Thats a valid point and great idea. Players shouldn't be punished for these things if the manufacturer changes the formula after the product was tested and approved.

2008 called. It wants its common sense but failed Star Caps defense back.

But I have a tangential comment that that's another drawback of ANYONE taking these supplements for which there is no FDA oversight. I mean, the FDA is the FDA; but, as a consumer, I would at least want to know that what's on the label is what's actually in the bottle I'm paying for and frequently it's not.

NFL takes the responsibility of testing/clearing supplements, et al then the company comes in for huge fines/bans if they change formula without telling anyone (nfl, players, public)

Every year players are suspended for PEDs and their defense is "I didn't know it was part of a supplement." Here are the banned substances.

I do think that the NFL should have a list of supplements that are tested. Or players should have the ability to have supplements tested (ideally at the cost of the manufacturer. But ultimately...the players are still going to try to gain an edge and many of them will lie that they took an NFL approved supplement. These supplements are always evolving and there’s a reason why players are getting these exotic supplements that they “didn’t know” has a banned ingredient.
