Ok, let me begin by saying if you've ever seen me post, you know I don't buy into any of the paranoia that goes on around here. I don't freak out, and I don't think of ways things can go bad.

However, after I read this positive article from Duncan about Ivory, a part of it made me wonder something.

Chris Ivory's 56-yard tour de force fueled New Orleans Saints upset - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com

Here's the quote I'll be discussing.

Ivory led a revitalized Saints rushing attack with 72 yards on seven carries. He averaged 10.6 yards in his eight touches.

But he didn't stick around to bask in the glory. He was one of the first ones out of the locker room after showering and dressing. For unknown reasons, he was excluded from the roster of team-selected players paraded to the post-game interview podium.

By the time reporters entered the locker room for interviews, Ivory's locker was empty.
So his teammates spoke for him.

Here's my paranoia. Is Ivory hurt? The Saints are big on saying nothing about injuries and keeping things a secret until Wednesday when the league mandates they have to report injury news. Look at Sproles. No one had any idea he broke his hand he had "family / personal issues" and was excused from practice. Then, Wednesday hits and "oh yeah, he had hand surgery one one of his hands 50/50 shot as to which one".

My hope is that it's all about Ivory being humble and just didn't want a lot of attention, but I have a weird feeling about this.

Sorry for pushing the "panic" button, but if anyone has any janitor friends, it would be a good time to ask around.

Ok, flame away.

good god i hope not.. but thats not evidence for anything, he may just not want to talk to the media, or just has somewhere to go..

Again, I hope that's the case.

I guess just the SP era of handling injury information has me thinking cloak and dagger stuff. haha.

Ivory is not a natural interview. It's almost painful when he does do interviews. I bet that has more to do with it than anything else.

It is possible. He could have injured his shoulder on that hit he put on Samuel. But I really hope not. I enjoyed watching him and Ingram yesterday. I really believe having both of them in pushes them. Healthy competition.

I'll cosign with you about Sproles because I said myself something was fishy about how all that transpired...but in any event I think and hope Ivory is fine because I truly believe he has and can continue to spark this Saints running game.

we will know nothing til Wed.

dang. Gonna need his running down the stretch.

If he was banged up/injured, would he just leave the lockerroom, or would he go to the training room for treatment?

The Advocate frames it this way:
"Ivory was not available after the game Sunday..."

Felt the same way you did when I read it. Here is hoping he had something to do. It was still early on Sunday when the game finished.

Alright, lets not jump to conclusions here. We have no proof that Ivory is injured. It may well be that he's just ****** that he hasn't played until now and still feels that he's being slighted due to them running Ingram in the 4th qtr. while we were trying to get out from under the shadow of our own endzone. I too felt that was a slight to Ivory when you know Ivory would have gotten more than 1-2 yards on 3 carries. When Ivory had to sit on the sideline, Ingram went back to his usual 2 ypc runs and almost cost us the game.

That's probably part of it. Plus, Ivory had complained a bit to the media, and even made a few trade noises. The Saints may not have wanted to give him too much of the spotlight after that.

He had carries in the second to last series (the FG).

They used Ingram at the goal line for the last series, but I figured they are still a little more comfortable with his ball control.

Hopefully there is no injury.

I always chuckle when veteran, seemingly knowledgable, members make statements like this.

He didn't almost cost us the game, he did exactly what they planned. Run three times to burn Atlanta's timeouts and as much clock as possible and then punt. If we got a first down then great, but that wasn't really the point. Protect the ball, burn the last timeouts, and run time off the clock. Those were the important things.
