Pass coverage lapses is the difference between 2-2 and 4-0 (5 Viewers)

We just have different ideas of what a 60 second defensive strategy to end the game should be. You seem to be ok with spotting them 60 yards, I’m not.
You keep ignoring the question. Talking to a wall here. Good night.

Adebo for some reason is above criticism on this forum. He’s overrated and has been since he’s been here.
I don't think that's the case. The PI should have been expected on the last drive as he had already been flagged for it twice (both declined). It was for the coaching staff to put the defense in a better position to end the game. They didn't and Cousins attacked the player that had already shown he would commit PI and that the refs had a tendency to the throw the flag on.

Your question isn't worth answering and it ignores that the team consistently has bad end of game defensive strategy and outcomes. But goodnight to you as well.

Thank you for cherry picking. Lol.

I'll just ignore your questions from now on. :9:

DA doesn’t make offenses work for yards in the last 2 mins. He plays soft with a minimal pass rush and DBs playing way off the ball and allows big chunks of yardage.

Do you have any stats showing that DA's defenses give up more point in the final two minutes of a half than other NFL defenses or is this just how you feel about it?

I'm genuinely curious. My gut feeling is that they are no worse than most and better than some, but I'd like to see the stats to settle this issue. I googled it but I'm guessing these are the kind of advanced stats that you have to pay for and I don't know where to find them.

I was very annoyed with Adebo’s play on that last drive. First, the long P.I. was extremely dumb. Second, the next long pass that Cousins overthrew Moody, Adebo (and the safety) let him get behind them again.

BUT, this game isn’t even close if the offense and special teams do their jobs.

We HAVE to find a way to clean up the dumb mistakes and we need to get healthy!

How about Dennis Allen just kicking the Fing Field Goal & taking the 3 points...

The difference between us being 4-0 & 2-2 is the fact that Allen has decided 3 points don't matter in close games!

It is completely stupid that today's coaches make this mistake time & time again in tightly contested games...

I do think he blew it in the Philly game by not taking the points. But, I think he probably made the right call against Atlanta. By going for it Atlanta got the ball inside the 10 and was forced to punt giving us the ball on the 50 which gave the offense a really short field to get the go ahead TD. If they kick the FG, I'm not sure that Atlanta doesn't get the ball back and just keeps handing the ball the Allegiere until the clock runs out. We were down Davis, Gay, and Mathieu and had not been able to stop their run game in the 4th.

Also, the play calling inside the 10 on that drive was not good on all 4 downs. Kamara runs to the left for 8 on first down but you take the 5 yard penalty (I would have taken the run depending on the spot) and then you mess around with runs to the right and passes for 4 downs. Kubiak has done a good job calling plays, but not on that series.

No, no matter how many times you post it.

The D held the Eagles to 15 points.
The D held the Clowns to 12 points, 9 of them from FGs from 50+ yards. The Clowns crossed the Saints' 20 once, and didn't score a TD.

The D has allowed 1 TD in 2 games, both games losses.

If you D holds opposing teams to 15 points and 12 points, respectively, in a dome setting to boot, and your team loses, the D is not the problem.

And like I told you on the gameday board, you are expecting the 2000 Ravens.
man thats even more depressing. could you imagine prime brees/payton with that kinda defense.

This is why.... You kick the Field Goal

You could see the falcons weren't going to let us score a TD...

You take the points.
Our D had been playing extremely well.

I don’t have the stats but I watch every Saints game and have since 1967. It started with the Minny Miracle when we had 4 DL, 1 LB and 6 DBs in on the last play of the game. Any other DC in the league would have had 3 DL and 8 DBs in the game. Even with the No call against the Rams, Brees still gave the Saints the lead with under 2 mins to play and the Rams with no timeouts. I remember the D getting a sack and forcing the Rams into a 3rd or 4th and long which they ended up converting to set up the FG to tie. Then there was the GB game last year: up by 17 with 6 mins to play. I will try to find the time to research how many times a DA defense has given up the lead in the last 2 mins of a game. You are right, without stats, it is all gut feeling.
