It doesn’t add up. He has done restructuring before, correct? So he should know that the Saints can do it without negotiating, correct?

What choice did the Saints have? They were against the cap compliance deadline, and they don’t have a viable replacement for Carr. He has a no- trade clause and refused to take a pay cut, That’s fine, but he seems unable to understand the situation the team is in and how his recalcitrance backed the team into a corner. Furthermore, he’s getting his money, correct? He’s making it hard to defend him, and that’s not good for either the fans or more importantly his teammates.

Carr is 34 years old and probably missing any chance of real post season glory at this point staying with us.

So, if Carr was itching that badly to be a FA. Either he's a coward that bit his tongue or it's not true. I'm more willing to believe that it's not true.

He has not incentive at this point of his career to be loyal to a situation that he didn't want to be in to finish his career.

The point is that the Saints didn't want him to go. Moore wanted him to be his starting QB so the Saints were not willing to do the things necessary to cut or trade him despite Carr not wanting to be here.

No it doesn’t add time. His contract was designed from the start for a restructure in years 2 and 3 if the Saints decided to. It had 4 years with salary and 3 void years from day 1.

I'm straight up telling you that Underhill and Triplett said Carr did not want to be here and did not want them to do the simple restructure to keep him. I believe that Florio and Breer said the same things, but I can't recall word for word what they wrote. I'm not making anything up.

But if you choose to believe I am because for some reason you can't possibly believe that Carr, a guy that grew up on the West Coast and played his entire football career on the West Coast, does not want to stay in Orleans where he missed his first significant time to injury; just got done with a 5 win season; is on his third offensive coordinator and second head coach; hasn't been given the OL or weapons he feels he needs to succeed; was immediately based for taking his kids to Chipotle when he got here; wasn't here for the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras; and is either not liked or hated by much of the fan base, does not want to be here. I mean he only came here because DA was the head coach. Is it really hard to believe Carr doesn't want to be here given all of that?

The Saints don't want to cut him or trade him. Moore wants him as his starting QB this year so they aren't willing to do those things. They wanted him to take a pay cut and stay. He just wants out but the Saints won't let him go. That's why they just did the standard simple restructure.

Underhill said that Carr was willing to waive his no trade clause. He didn't mention whether Carr was willing to do other things to make a trade or a cut easier. But, it didn't matter because the Saints didn't want him to go this year.

But even if he would get paid, if he sat out it would not count as a year on his contract so he would be stuck in a place he does not want to be for two more years and he would be a year older.

I'm sure what Carr wanted was the ability to sign a 3 or 4 years $40 million contract like Geno Smith is about to get. If he plays out his contract here, he's only guaranteed money this year because the Saints are going to cut him next year. If he wants long term stability for 3 or 4 years at good money, it is a benefit for him to be a free agent now or be traded with the guarantee of a new contract. Or it was before free agency started.

The point of sitting out is to force a trade. It's greatly in the Saints interest to get something for him at that point.

You call him a Pro on one side and a guy who gets blind side trapped by a restructure on the other.

These people are business men with agents. Be more realistic.

I'll admit your right if he sits out. Otherwise this is more offseason teen drama among delusional fans.
