Pat Kirwan said he heard Carr didn’t want to do Saints contract restructure (152 Viewers)

Treat it how you want, but this is now the fourth or fifth person to report this or something similar. Florio, Breer, Underhill/Triplett, and Kirwin all have reported similar things. Apparently Carr preferred to be cut or traded and was willing to waive his no trade clause. The Saints asked him to take a pay cut but he refused and indicated that he would rather go. But, Moore wants him to start at least this year so the Saints did the standard restructure which they can do without his consent. I can't swear that the details are correct but 4 to 5 sources have now reported something similar so it seems pretty clear that Carr doesn't really want to be here and he's here because Moore wanted him as his starter this year. I'm sure Carr will still play his best, but it appears that he would rather be playing some place else.
C'mon you know how the click bait chasers work , 1 person says something and 10 say " It was reported " so they get more clicks. None of them are past that. They are not 4-5 sources it's 1 maybe 2 sources and 10 people jumping on

LOL the issue is not that. DC DID like us. He came here on purpose, He wanted to be here. And from before he took his first snap he got blasted for where he took his wife and kids to eat their 1st meal. Blasted for personnel stuff , like the eyeliner nonsense. We had people join this site with the sole intention of personally attacking DC and did nothing but that. And you all took the bait
I believe he came here bc he was overpaid, liked Dennis Allen, and didn’t have any other serious suitors. I do not believe DC ever had love for Saints fans.

And every fan base has brutal elements.

You know, Underhill has been saying the last couple of weeks, that if Carr would agree to a paycut ($10M would be great, but even $2M just to say he's less than $40M this year) would go a long way to making a gesture to the fans that he's willing to help the team out and just engendering some goodwill from the fans.

This whole situation is the exact opposite. Not accepting a paycut, then (apparently) pouting about a routine restructure, where he still gets all of his money, has to turn even his tepid supporters (like me) against him.
I like Nick but it's the offseason and Nick needs clicks

Exactly, when the Raiders were trying to trade him, he only picked 2 teams that he would waive his no-trade clause, and the Saints were top of the list. He liked the situation here with the offensive weapons, and defense better than any he had ever had in Oakland. Not just because DA was here either, they only had a limited time together in Oakland since DA was on thin ice already with losing records every previous season. He was 8-24 his first 2 years in Oakland before they drafted Carr. DA got fired like 4-5 games into Carr's rookie season, so they really aren't as "tied together" as many think.

Your mistake is he was not over paid. he was paid market value, just do the research. DC signed on March 6th BEFORE FA started. he had offers from the Jets and us. He could have waited until FA started and tested the market more but he liked DA . It's insane to think that he didn't like New Orleans or Saints fans . You are just projecting

Sorry but fans from other cities don't bash you for where you have your 1st meal with your KIDS. and say you're wearing eyeliner
I was never one of em, but I do get your point. I’d just reiterate that every fan base has folks who act like morons over a game. It’s baffling to me too, trust me. Fan being short for fanatic and all. Some folks are just plain jerks. Unhappy with themselves so they want company. 😊

In fairness I don’t think most players have any love for a fan base. It’s just a business. We’re the ones who have emotional attachments.

And yes, there are certainly exceptions.

Another clown post so I gave a fitting emoji for you. Have fun with it.

"DC never had love for Saints fans" -- that's why he was on the sideline signing autographs for people in the stands during his very 1st preseason game with the team, and I believe he was the last one out there signing stuff for kids after the game was over.

Again, just because you hate the guy doesn't mean you can just make sheet up and think people will believe it.

That’s funny because I feel you are projecting. Oh well agree to disagree.

I know this won't happen, but if he doesn't want to be here, I'd just sit him all season. Let things play out however they do and he can mope on the bench.
A prime example of someone wanting the plane to crash with them on it just because they hate the pilot. SMH SMH Stay classy Saints fan

Normally I would agree but there are more than a few that would rather see us lose so we're forced to get rid of Carr rather than we win 10-11 games and a playoff win and keep him
Think that’s my first facepalm as it’s not my thing to leave those emojis as my response….
I just cannot fathom any fan of the team who would rather we lose than win. Can’t fathom it.

And I don’t mean in a late season scenario where it helps our draft pick etc.

Why would anyone hate any player? Why would anyone want their team to lose?

Oh nooooooooooooooooo! An emoji!? Please, Stinkers. Take it back!

I don’t hate Carr. I don’t love him either. He is a small blip on the Saints timeline, and I’m a Saints fan.
