Payton Eying The Chargers Or Cardinals (2 Viewers)

Like I said before, I think it's the Chargers because Herbert is everything Jameis was supposed to be coming in to the league.

I'd take two firsts (2023 and 2024) and a 2023 2nd. And if the Chargers were smart, they'd run to the phones for that deal.

The pieces are in place for sure. He has Ekeler who is that receiving/do it all back like Bush/PT/AK. Williams/Allen and Palmer look like his X, Y and Z WRs.

more teams the better, drive the picks up. should be min 2 1's some future picks ( maybe even based on performance) like if he makes the playoffs or better, pick escalates

Ours included
Here me out on this. Remember in 2012 when SP got suspended and the Saints could've moved on from him? But instead, in a great show of loyalty, they held his job for him for a year? What if? The plan all along was for SP to just take a year of sabatical to refresh and recharge his batteries and come back, and THAT is why they wanted to just promote from within. Maybe DA took the job knowing it was on an interim basis and maybe THAT is why the locker don't respect him as a HC, because they know he will just revert back to DC. They didn't want that to be known so they had to go through the motions of outside candidates.

Let's make no mistake. This is about money. We are saying the Cardinals or the Chargers. If the Panthers come into play and offer him a five year $125 million deal, he's the Panthers new coach.

See Deshaun Watson - I like Atlanta. It's home. I want to be near family. Cleveland comes along with a five year $230 million deal and suddenly, he's a Brown.

I do agree that he will be the next Chargers head coach but with all this money running around, he may be the Texans head coach.......

Nah...he gone, because if it were just that....he would've come back by now

Nah, it was reported that Payton wanted out in 2019 after the NFC championship loss to the Rams.

He doesn't want to be here.

The Panthers would never be able to afford what they'd have to give up in picks. They're stuck in a perpetual rebuild.

You do understand the SAINTS have TOTAL control over where Sean Payton is going for the next three years? They aren't sending him within the division unless that team Ditka's their next five drafts to the Saints.
