Payton is coach of the year (1 Viewer)

Yes, why did he pass 3 times with 2min left at the 10yard line against Tom Brady. With the bucs only having 1 timeout
They had 2 timeouts.

If we just go conservative there, we still hand Brady the ball with 1:10 left. It wouldn't of mattered. You either stop Brady on four downs, get a turnover, or he was going to get a FG.

He definitely makes questionable calls some times. Now let’s talk about getting your depleted, weary team ready to play.

Cause he is the GOAT coach and don’t care about couch potato quarterbacks. We had three TO’s left and the best 4th string quarterback in history. We would have won regardless.

5-2 after living in hotels for 3 weeks, a plethora of injuries and losing the #1 QB, but beating the Super Bowl champs and Tom Brady? Any questions?
He still sometimes makes bad, unnecessarily risky decisions or calls late in-games that IMHO, are more derived or influenced maybe more by his inflated ego, and his play calling arrogance is a hard thing for me to swallow.

I just posted a kind of sharp critique on how Payton's ego, arrogance-fueled offensive mindset on the Game day board that I know will get me some negative criticisms, and reviews but Payton does it with such alarming, amazing regularity and brazenesss that Ive gotten so fed up with it over the years, its next to.impossible to ignore or overlook, otherwise I risk appearing like a clueless idiot. Even though I'll probably get some significant blowback from other SR posters due to it.

A practice squad kicker who had already missed an extra point, the Buc selling out to the run, the d-line not able to get home
Johnson done a lot better and most Saints fans feel more comfortable with him,.at least in the short-term, kicking FGs and XPs then Rosas did, until Lutz decides he's sufficiently healed enough. Your argument has some flaws to it because knowing Alvin is deep in the red zone, he's a fighter and likely couldve run it in for a TD.

Giving Brady 1:46 to drive his team down the field 40-50 yards for a potential GW FG makes more sense somehow then him getting the ball back with 71 seconds left? Payton's risky series of plays worked out in the end due to the defense bailing us out(for the win with an INT return for a TD).

Other than the last 2:00 minutes of the game today, I'd argue Payton's play calling was very good, in the "above-average" range.

Get it straight! The Bucs had all 3 timeouts remaining. I agree with the play calling, Sean was going for the win, the Bucs loaded the box & would've stuffed us & used their timeouts
