Payton is coach of the year (1 Viewer)

I’ll take Sean Payton over Larry Christianson 1,000 out of 1,000 times, but you keep on hypothesizing.
He asked me where I got my degree in Psychology and just by chance, I do have one. I just answered the man's question and I'm confused how my former Chair of Psychology at USA has anything to do with Sean Payton's occasional risky calls. And I had more then my fair share of classes with Dr. Christiansen, he was one of the classiest, most intelligent, keen minds Ive ever had to pleasure to run across and discuss the vagaries of human behaviors, and disorders.

Trust me, when it comes to a severe substance-abuse related disorder or disease, Alcohol Tremens is no hypothetical matter, its a frightening, scary thing to witness or just watch on a YouTube video. Its similar with some of its symptoms to seizures suffered by epileptics and I would never wish these symptoms on my worst enemy or biggest rival.

I seriously do mean that. Lets just be happy Saints won the game and are now 5-2, and any discussions of Payton's late-game decisions are essentially moot points.

So, you don't think his play calling on 1st and 2nd down with less then 2:00 minutes was less than desirable or that Payton doesn't make some frustrating, arrogant decisions sometimes during games either now or in the past?

And I got my B.A. in Abnormal Psychology from the University of South Alabama. The chairman of the Dept., Larry Christiansen, was a highly-regarded, well-respected professor of psychology at Texas A&M for over 20 years. He authored or co-authored and did some of the clinical trial studies mentioned or discussed in most of USA's Psychology core curriculum textbooks dating back to the mid-70's. My speciality was in Abnormal Psychology, in relation to tics, behavioral disorders, abnormalities, or even dealing with patients with various alcohol or drug problems. I've read about and seen cases of drug-related disorders that are as mind-boggling to believe they exist as much as their frightening to see. Alcohol Tremens is one such substance-abuse related disorder.
Way to google, guy. I appreciate your willingness to commit to the bit.

Winning is often the best anasthetic. This has been a different, "New Frontier" sort of season where most of us werent sure 2 .months ago what kind of team we were going to get, other than it was going to be entirely different from what we've known and been used to for 15 years?

Winston, God Bless.him, has stepped up and boldly met that challenge. That's why his injury today stings so much, because we all know how hard, diligently, and faithfully he worked to get his career back on track. It hurts me to see Winston get hurt. And I know it does Payton, too because it makes his job even harder having to deal with different starting QBs now as a result of injuries.

Payton's called far more good or intelligent plays than bad ones this season and throughout his entire HC career as Saints HC, and he's shown he can adapt and change his gameplan so all's well thats ends well.

Coach Payton believes in winning the game with your offense if at all possible. In my opinion he understands the risks involved in calling unconventional plays in game closing situations, but sees it as calculated risk. This philosophy is opposed to Coach Mora who, back in the day, played conservative on offense and counted on his defense to close games out.

Honestly, I was yelling at the tv after the first incomplete...but in retrospect, I'd rather have the gambler trying to get the win with the ball in our hands.

Those three passes at the end of the game were not coach of the year decisions. If we hadn’t won we would be cursing Payton for those.
