Payton screwed up. Should've gotten a Lawyer. (2 Viewers)

I like how you post examples of what you have been posting and leave out all of the ones that do not favor your position of you not trolling. In what state are you a member of the Bar? Just curious

I wasn't purposely ignoring those other posts. You've seen some of those. I'm just supplying some of the posts I have made where I have tried to be complimentary/supportive of Saints fans to show that my demeanor is not one sided, as you might have seen it. I freely admit that I have entered into some heated discussions. Yes, I have argued some points. As I said, I have a strong opinion that just happens to not be the majority opinion on the forum.

The distinction I am trying to make is this. There is a difference between going somewhere to start trouble, and going somewhere to engage in spirited discussion and yes...sometimes...debate. How boring would life be if everybody agreed on everything?

I realize this is a Saints forum, and I'm not here to start trouble. it just so happens that this is where the most discussion is taking place right now, and I enjoy hearing opinions that vary from my own.

He'll be lawyering up soon I'd suppose. This is going to get ugly.

Would you take losing 7 million dollars seriously? You can Payton will to.

It appears a handshake deal for a 4 game suspension was in place based on Payton's reactions.

Sounds like he wanted Payton to come completely clean and admit that he had full knowledge of what was going on. I guess he didn't so Goodell brought the hammer down on him.

You didn't answer my question, where are you Barred?

Also, I never said everyone should have the same opinion, but you should be respectful to others who have a differing opinion to yours. I don't know and I don't care of any other instances in which you have posted. In this particular thread on this particular forum, your initial comment to the initial poster was extremely disrespectful to him. You didn't not try to start an innocent debate with the guy; instead, you called him "a real piece of work," and you were being condescending to him. There is a right way to go about things and there is a wrong way to go about things. Your initial post was the wrong way because you initiated a conversation with hostility towards the poster, and of course his fellow fans are going to come to his aid and stand up for him. That is what Saints fans do. Though we may have differing opinions with each other at times, we are not going to let someone from another team come on here and bully one of our members who is clearly venting in this time of misfortune.

The Saints tried to knock Brett Farve out of the game with legal hits...there. Now did the Packers try to knock out M. Vick or did the Niners try to knock out Jimmy Graham, PT, Ahmad Bradshaw, Did the Giants try to exacerbate Williams concussion symptoms to get a turnover.....

If the Saints admit to trying to knock out players...does that make them any different than any of the other 31 defenses trying to shake up the opponents starting QB.

I don't have a law degree, though I was pre law for my undergraduate degree. My focus was legal research-political science major, econ minor. I'm a licensed stock broker, holding my series 7 and 63. I was preparing to take my options principle exam when I blew out my back.

That's cool man, I was just curious. I'm sorry to hear about you blowing your back out.

You're absolutely right, bbourque5, I didn't handle myself well in this thread. The tension had been building in another thread, but bottom line, I know better, and apologize for being confrontational.

There are ways to debate, yet maintain civility, and in this thread in particular, I did not do so. I will do better.

Thank you. I was born with a genetic condition that affects my bones, and I'm on disability right now because of my back, and my knee.

Thanks for giving me a chance to admit my mistakes. Much appreciated ;)

Thanks, diversity is very important; sometimes we need to hear from a fan of another team on here about various things. We don't want to tell people that they aren't welcome here because of their loyalty to anther team. We welcome all fans as long as they are respectful. Hope the rest of your day goes well.

Ya, I think it's a gray area. Players put the big hits on other players to try and force turnovers, and if possible, wear a player down. Some players look to knock a player out, without causing permanent damage. I know I've heard older players make this distinction. To some degree, it's more common than even I acknowledged.

The problem is offering financial incentive to purposely injury another player. It can be said though...aren't players played for those "big hits"?

The NFL needs to be crystal clear about what it is taking umbrage with. You cannot turn the game of professional football into flag football. Yet at the same time, you cannot allow hyper-violent, almost vengeful play to enter in, either.

I am all for playing hard, so long as it is clean. Injuries are always going to happen, but purposely hurting a person is unsporting, and doesn't belong in the league.

Agreed.

You have a good day, too.
