Listening to King’s latest podcast, I was surprised to hear him talk about why Hurts is in his opinion no longer head and shoulders better than any QB not named Mahomes. He said watching the Tampa game, when his team needed a spark, Hurts just sat there on the bench. King then said, “He‘s the most passive leader you’ve ever seen.” Oof. You can criticize a lot about Derek Carr, but at least he doesn’t have this problem, at all.

There are times when it is better to keep quiet.

I think it is more important of a leader to read the room than to be a rah-rah guy all the time. Specially when you have many cameras around you and your peers.

Sirianni is a little bit of a showboat, all is good when things are going your way, but make things worst at bad times.

You can't blame the emotional state of the team only on the quarterback.

You just have to be yourself. Whoever you are.

Hurts’ quiet nature isn’t why he’s viewed as dropping among QBs. It’s because he hasn’t played well. Maybe because of injury, maybe because of a new OC, maybe because of teammates failing to do their jobs.

But it’s not because he’s quiet, lol. He was quiet last season, too.

When you have nothing to say but say it anyway.

How about a few original valid thoughts on why the Eagles regressed down the stretch other than Hurts sitting in solitude whole gathering his thoughts., Mr.King.

Play on the field outways body language on the bench by a thousand miles. Geez!

There was a play last week where Philly was close to its end zone - it was a run and I think there was a run blitz- all Hurts had to do was get in front of rusher and his RB at least makes it back to line
Instead he touches the rusher like he’s got cooties resulting in a 3yd loss

That being said, we’re well passed the ‘qb needs to be a barking dog’ era

All I saw was a team that never adjusted to a TB team blitzing him like crazy. No hot reads or quick slants. Instead 15+ yard routes. They never made Tampa pay for their aggressive pass rush. So, Tampa just kept it up, as they should.

Philly collapsed as a collective.
Their D failed
Their online and rbs failed at blitz pick up
Coaches didn't adjust
I believe Hurts was more banged up than reported.
The loss of their coaches from last year showed dramatically.

Philly running everything out the gun, read options, and lots of sideline go throws makes it tough for Hurts to be successful. Being under center, using play action, and having your best receivers healthy would go a long way.

Hurts being a vocal vs quiet leader isn’t the difference.

There were reports awhile ago that some players and staff didn’t care for his “stoic” demeanor. Regardless of what some may think, some players on a team, wants a leader that will fire them up, make them believe when they are down, and exude passion for the most part.
