PFF graded Saints O-Line first in pass blocking after Week 1 (Merged) (2 Viewers)

Keep in mind that the PFF pass blocking ratings are for the entire team, not just the OL. Using Miami as an example, they were dragged down by poor pass blocking from Alex Ingold and Julian Hill. Our whole team graded out well, including RB’s, TE’s, and Wilson at WR.

At least 3 of those were on the RB's who should be picking up secondary blitzers, or QB who should be getting rid of the ball to the hot read. Probably the one credited to gay as well, but don't remember that one clearly in my head.
Their OL did a good job of slowing down our DL. It’s the reason why, despite the four sacks, PFF ranked our pass rush 28th.

Two points:

1) Let's hope Lucas Patrick's toe recovers quickly. It is unfortunate our (lack of) OL depth has been tested already in just week one.

2) Has anyone confirmed when Derrick Brown suffered his meniscus injury in game? I don't recall hearing/seeing him being substituted. I wonder if some of Penning's success may have been AFTER Brown suffered the injury, and Brown perhaps tried to play through it. I do recall where he got pretty heated with Penning ...

The Saints will need to bring every quick release play from the playbook this week. Plus, run at the pass rushers. Make them read, react and tackle. Pressure Dak. Bang Little Lamb around. Attack them early and often. Win the turnover battle and the game is the Saints. WHO DAT!

Taylor may draw a penalty, but he will stay in Lamb's shorts all day. It will be a good contest in its own right.

Yay we are first. But Carolina is the doormat of the NFC South. Dallas is an excellent regular season team and has the talent in place that Carolina can only dream about. So, while it’s exciting to pay ourselves on the back there’s always a week 2. Now while I’m hopefully optimistic, Dallas has the talent to be a major problem. Unless it’s the playoffs then it’s an easy saints win

It was Carmichael all along. We invested heavily in high quality offensive lineman who’ve struggled to the brink of being considered busts.

Cesar Ruiz was never a bust
Trevor Penning was never a bust

They were stuck in the mud of Pete Carmichaels horrible play calling and scheme which has gotten horribly stale and inept at producing positive results.

We will NOW reap the benefits of drafting high quality offensive lineman and dominate the trenches.

I was suspicious that it was Pete’s scheme and not penning. You don’t go from nasty mauler to unable to stand up right overnight.

So glad he’s gone , and Klint is here.

To hell with the rankings, our offensive line pushed around a very formidable front like Childs play.

We will bum rush teams upfront this year and for many years to come because Fuaga and Penning will eventually be the best in the business.

Only thing a guy can ask more is Big Ram gets a new wheel to continue his career. Cause with this group , we’re set
