Ah a blast from the past. I haven't seen any mention of this here but, Terrell Owens, selected to the HOF, is skipping the induction ceremony and having one of his own.

Terrell Owens reveals celebration plans for Hall of Fame induction

The NFL in turn is not mentioning his name at the ceremony and mailing him his gold jacket.

For me, there's something comforting in that. No matter how much times change, we can still count count on T.O. being me-first, look-at-me. Some people will never grow up. They serve to amaze us that they can even survive day to day. It's oddly refreshing.

I'm still glad he was never a Saint and I'll bet Cowboys fans are happy he was a Cowboy. I know I am.

I never really had much of a problem with T.O. during his career. I hated him in his early years with the 49ers mostly because they were still beating us down in that time, but overall never quite had negative feelings towards him.

He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and much of the drama around him was fueled by the media. People are only now coming around the corner that McNabb was also the problem in Philly. That whole incident over the SB has always bugged me because T.O. played his butt off in that game coming off an injury, meanwhile his quarterback played a bad game and ran that slow as hell two minute offense when down by 10.

He was not the problem on those Cowboys teams. He produced a 1,000+ yard receiving year and 10 or more TD's in all 3 of his seasons in Dallas. That's great numbers for a starting WR and he was around 33-36 years old at the time and much better than the other diva wide receiver they've wasted a lot of time on in recent years (Dez Bryant).

Pac Man, Ray Ray, Joe Montana, Kevin Greene, Smitty (Though I have warmed up to him a little), Junior the nameless, Browner, and maybe Prime.

Don't really hate any of them, just hate what they say and do.

His last year in the NFL, he was 37 years old, played in 14 games and STILL had 72 Rec., 983 Yards, and 9 TDs. If he plays those 2 other games, he's posting 80/1,000/10 at 37 years old. This man was an absolute beast of a WR, I can NEVER understand the argument against him. If you wanna bring "character" into a player's judgement, there are lots of guys that would be left out, top of my list would be LT and Ray Lewis. Even looking at his contemporary, Randy Moss will probably be a 1st Ballot guy, but somehow because he was a Patriot, people will overlook his "character flaws" as well. Say what you want about T.O., guys loved playing with him (aside from his QBs lol), contrasted with Randy Moss whom guys didn't like playing with because he took plays off ALL THE TIME. There's a reason both Minnesota and Oakland TRADED Randy Moss away.

I just wish the Hall of Fame had CONSISTENCY and stuck with the guidelines they set

This is what I mean, TOTALLY AGREE.

Michael Irvin had drug problems and stabbed a teammate. Lawrence Taylor was the biggest problem child back in his day, if anyone wants to get into character flaws. Ray Lewis has a freaking statue in Baltimore and everyone knows what he did. As you mentioned with Randy Moss, his exit from New England was troublesome and Moss in general had some moments.

T.O. was indeed a beast and he tends to be the only one that is targeted over "character" in the Hall of Fame.

Always liked T.O. and respected his work ethic immensely. I do wish he had been a better locker room guy, though.

I was listening to Mad Dog Radio yesterday and somebody called in and made a GREAT point, a man's , personality is different than a man's character. He may have had an intense personality, but he NEVER had off the field issues. He actually did a LOT of community outreach and local charities. By all accounts, off the field he was a pretty nice guy!

I just think the whole situation is ridiculous, and when you also point out 2 of the other 3 inductees had their own issues (Urlacher being the exception), it just makes me hate the Hall of Fame even more than I already did.

Always Sanders.

I know a lot on this board loved to hate Steve Smith, but I always loved his passion and the way he played. I could never really hate Roddy White because he just sucked too much.

Currently, the one who is the most fun to hate is Scam, because as good as he is, he always finds a way to make his entire team implode.

I don’t know what Ray Lewis did. No sarcasm, in all honesty I don’t know exactly what it is he did. I know there was a stabbing in a nightclub that he and/or his entourage was mixed up in but I thought “ the truth” of what actually happened never really came out. I’m not defending the guy , I just don’t know what really went down. I know he wasn’t convicted of murder or accessory to murder but when money and fame are involved that doesn’t really mean anything at all.

Steve Smith rooted for us last year and was one of the most vocal people in the media of retired players who was high on the Saints. He had nothing but nice things to say about us last year. I admit that I used to hate him when he played cause he was a frustrating receiver to cover and there were times when fights broke out with him.

Agreed on Roddy White, always thought he was massively overrated. He talked so much smack, yet led the league in dropped passes one year and never really had big games against us.

The one receiver I've hated playing against in recent years has been Golden Tate. He seems to always give us fits, even last year when we beat down Detroit, he had some big plays in that game.

My top 3 most hated, in order:

1. Cam Newton
2. Deion Sanders
3, Jameis Winston

Freaking Golden Tate!! Hopefully PRob is up to the task if we so happen to meet up with them in the playoffs. That guy always finds a way to tear us apart.

I had no issue with T.O.'s character. I didn't care for him as a player. He was an amazing wide receiver. I don't recall him breaking any laws either. I don't like the type of player that has to call attention to himself so much. He is part of a team. I have and always will like players like Barry Sanders who literally did something amazing on the field, walked over and handed the ref the ball. I don't care for all the dancing and stuff unless it's with the entire offense or defense. Wasn't T.O. the guy that ran to the middle of the field and stood on the other teams logo a couple of times? Drew would never do anything like that.

I love that TO is thumbing his nose at the NFL and their HOF ceremony.

As far as Steve Smith, I didn't hate him as much as how the ref's treated him. He did a lot of offensive pass interference against us that wasn't called, and some after the whistle action that was never called either.
