To the second smartest conglomeration of people who genuinly care about the Saints (behind the front office, of course), I offer this question. Assuming we all agree that Drew Brees' health is the most important factor the making the playoffs this year, what do you think are the other most important factors? Obviously, all are important, so pick your top 1. Thanks.

Colston's health.

If Brees and Colston are gone, our offense is nonexistent (unless Reggie can prove he can play).

And knowing that our defense is already nonexistent, we'd be screwed over.

You can say that about any team's top 2 players though. No Brady/Moss and the Pats would be 7-9.

all of those things are huge, but we need a defense and a solid draft could fix that, we don't even have to use all of the picks on D just some.
1)DRC
2)Laws
3)TE/NT/OLine
5)Frank Okam if he is there and we haven't drafted a NT
6)Corey Lynch
7) OLine

Running game will improve next year, I think that everyone is going to be healthy in time for the season but McKenzie may not start a few games just in case. Morgan Staying Healthy is important, but we have starter from last year that we survived with if Morgan goes down.

I think meachem won't srop passes like Henderson, but henderson I hope can improve on the dropping issues.

Payton does trend to get pass happy, sometimes for no reason, Bush is running for 5 yards a carry, so we only run 3 more times the rest of the game? I don't get it sometimes.

I have to go running game. I think Deuce's knee is the key to that but the running game will make EJ look awesome and Brees will light up the league if we can get it back on track.

With the additions to the LB corp, I think the DL will be able to go after the QB more and the DBs will be able to look pass as opposed to watch the run most of the time, cutting down on all the bad pass plays. So, I think this, and the impact players I am CERTAIN we will draft, will help the D. Getting the running game going will revamp this O. It is the key.

We won 7 games last year,it should have been 9,even with one of the worst pass defenses in the league. we have a very good group of guys on the O. PT will be even better at the run game this year. (i remind everyone that he did his 100-100 game in Chi-town with broken ribs) We have Stecker and Deuce(at least part time duty for awhile) i am not worried about the run game. We can solidify our Defense with a great, well thought out, draft. Defense 1-2-3.... JMHO

I had to go coaching decision. I know it was discussed on this board til blue in the face, but the fact remains, you don't run a cutesy trick reverse when your leading late in the 4th by only 3. Bad call. I like Payton, he can be creative, aggressive, and knows how to really take advantage of Ds they are reading well. These are all great things to find in a HC, but they are also his down fall. I think he "over" thinks things that are very simple. Would we have been so aggravated with the games turn out had the same result occurred, but with a loooong TB drive after a lot of running up the gut calls?

I will probably change this as the year moves along but I want a solid draft with some young producers located for the D. I think a healthy Deuce would do wonders for our O as well allowing RB to be a greater threat/decoy and making our passing game even more lethal.

It's hard to pick just one thing because it's going to be a combination that contributes to a good season. Obviously we need Vilma and MM to be 100%, and have a good defensive draft. And having a healthy Deuce will go a long way.

Better coaching decisions. This effects all aspects of game and draft

The best defense is a good offense and we need to do a better job of putting together those long drives and scoring on them. This makes both our offense and defense better. Unless we pick Rivers or Dorsey or Ellis, i don't see any other player we choose this year making a large impact right now. Definitely in the future some could make a big splash, just not immediately.

I don't see how a draft this year puts us over the top for this coming year. Sure it helps us in the future, but I don't know about this year, especially if we draft CB.

I went with the running game which includes DOOOOOCE'S knee.

We surely need defensive help, but the additions of Vilma, Gay and Morgan should be good enough barring injury. I expect Vilma to be healthy and Gay to be a solid Nickle. Morgan on the other hand, I am a bit worried about.

I think the coaches have learned some very valuable lessons and MM should be fine.

I'm writing in better play from the O-Line. Brees needs to throw the ball without some DE wrapped around his ankles.

I can hardly wait for the explosion of anger on these boards when the Saints draft a tight end, wide receiver and OL in this draft (with at least one of them being a high draft pick)... ESPECIALLY when (insert defensive player's name here) "IS STILL ON THE FREAKIN' BOARD!!!!!"

/sarcasm (sort of) on
