Pro Bowl Rules changed (1 Viewer)

Seriously, does anybody even watch this thing?

It would be so much better if they had a skills competition.

Ask the former Georgia RB if they should have any events at all.

I'll agree with that. But neither the Pro Bowl nor the All-Star Game have any defense in them.

I think the Saturday Night/skills competition far more interesting than the actual game.

Agreed.

I am more excited to see the skills, 3point and dunk competitions. Having Peja and CP3 in them makes it even more exciting. At least the game has some crazy dunks and high energy plays. The Pro bowl is ..yawn.

I'm too lazy to look because, as the players would tell you, it's the Pro Bowl and I don't really care, but I wonder if the network that shows the Super Bowl must also show the Pro Bowl now that ABC is out of the NFL Broadcasting Circle.

Otherwise, those folks at FOX just wasted a lot of money.

During the SB, I believe I saw a advertisement for the PB on Fox next weekend?

This is all I will ever post about the Pro Bowl.

Personally, I think the Pro Bowl should be in name only, not a real game. So, it is an honor for your acheivements, and here's a free trip to Hawaii for you and the family, love ones.... to do what ever you want. And here's your trophy and commemorative jersey. Enjoy.

No one gets injured, there's still a reward involved, and the whole family is happy. The only downfall I see is that it takes a "football game" away from the folks in Hawaii. I use the term football game, loosley.

I wonder what the annual tee-vee ratings are for the Pro-bowl anyway.

Nobody--or more specifically I would say very few people really give two tinkers damn about the pro-bowl, hence the tv ratings are probably pretty low.

I was going to post this same exact sentiment. The pro-bowl is just beyond dumb. I'm all for selecting an all star-team for each season, but they don't have to play. Turn it into some sort of media/advertisement love fest for the NFL and Hawaii. Make it so the players still benefit from being selected to the "pro-bowl" without the game. Turn it into positive, weekend-long celebration of the NFL, its best players and the fans etc. without the game.

FOX is broadcasting the Pro Bowl. It'll be interesting to see if this results in the Pro Bowl being slightly less boring.

As for the press coverage being eliminated; I think the purpose of this is to make it so that the QB wont have to hold onto the football too long. A lot of times if a corner gets too great of a jam, the QB is forced to improvise which results in a great chance of injury.
