PSA: Trey Hendrickson has 11.5 sacks for the Bengals this season. Happy Thanksgiving!! (1 Viewer)

with a QB maybe 3x better than who we have (and i'm not a Carr basher) and a much better WR corps
so this stat on SR is the emptiest of calories
At the end of the day isn't that what Thanksgiving is about empty calories.

Based on their history, they move him to outside linebacker and he becomes a rarely used back up who the fans complain about because he gets exposed in coverage and some fans wonder aloud why they don’t use him as a pass rushesr cuz he was good in college while the other half argues that he doesn’t have to profile to be an NFL defensive end.

😂🤣😂
True, I don't think he would of enjoyed this level of success here the last few years

Prostate-specific antigen - and the Bengals have the same record as the Saints this season…
... and if I am reading the stats correctly, Hendrickson so far counts for 60% of the Bengals' sacks (19 total).

And, not all sacks are created equal. Sacks on 1st-2nd down aren't as critical as sacks on 3rd-4th down; a QB can get tackled 2 inches from the LOS or 20 yards from the L OS, both are sacks.

Do you even know who got paid that year when the decision was made? Hint: It wasn't Davenport.
It was Marcus Williams, in part. We took money, that could have been used to sign Hendrickson, to franchise Williams in what turned into a one year rental before he left as well. I get the OP's frustration. I share it. Loomis' front office has made personnel blunder after blunder in recent years. It stings watching Hendrickson rack up probowl seasons at DE (a major position of need) on a totally manageable contract.

People also conveniently leave out that he had 1 good season before he left in FA. Before that he was an oft-injured under-performing player.

Hindsight is 20/20.

We should have kept Hendrickson.
We should have drafted Mahomes.
We should have drafted Lamar Jackson.
We should have drafted Josh Allen.
We should have drafted, insert name here.

We have so many armchair GMs with 20/20 hindsight vision.

We don't know had he stayed if he would have turned into the player he is now. Nielson wanted to fatten up our DEs and apparently DA left pre-game warm-ups optional, so Hendrickson may have reverted back to the oft-injured player who had 1 good season.
