Not sure why this test is given. Surely, NFL teams have access to ACTand SATscores as well as grade transcripts, not to mention detailed information from college coaches on quickly players master information presented.

The Wonderlic is a 12 minute or so test. It is easy to lose track of time and not answer many questions.

Seems to me that processing information quickly and not losing track of time are fairly important traits for an NFL Quarterback.

it's hard to see any correlation between the score and onfield production or even film room breakdown
drew and peyton are 2 of the smartest qbs ever and they both had 28s

Remind me. How many Super Bowl wins do Marino and Kelly have? Combine their Super Bowl wins, multiply that number by 1 million and they still do not have as many as Drew! ? In jest. Don’t get your panties in a wad. But I tend to agree.

The wonderlic is just as relevant as any other measurement given (40 time, height/weight, etc.).

It's not a predictor of success like any other measurement. But they all are tools that provide a point of data in conjunction with their film to give front offices more complete information on projecting players to the pro level.

i was saying 2 of the best (and smartest) ever were just average
and 2 other very successful were well below average
while this is a very small sample size, it seems likely that if you plotted the scores on a graph they wouldn't be predictive of anything - unlike some other measurables (to address gamebreaker's concern)

Patrick Mahomes and Billy Joe Tolliver both got 24's :hihi: .

Terry Bradshaw also got a 16, and Vince Young got a 6. :covri:

That score means very little.

High Wunderlich scores can mean you may have a powerful prefrontal lobe. That can be good, but it may also get in the way of your primitive brain from sending fast, coordinated action to your body. Your primitive brain is where your reflexes, instincts, and coordination come from. It's way faster than the thinking part of your brain.

Standardized testing is ridiculous in the classroom and even more ridiculous on the football field

This is why we should trade for Burrow.

Do you guys think we should trade for Burrow?

If we wanted to trade for Burrow what should we use for ammo?

Discuss.

I think, at this point, it may be that Wonderlic is a league sponsor, and these "leaked" tests are really advertising.
