Trade Talk Rams Could be Open to Trading Cooper Kupp (1 Viewer)

The Rams are a game out of first place and that division is getting ravaged by injuries. I think they're going to keep it together as long as Stafford is upright. He's going nowhere IMO.
I agree. I think they are dangling him in hopes a team like Tampa who was ravaged yesterday at WR but still in solid footing for playoffs will overpay for him.

Otherwise, they hang on to him and roll forward.

9 games in 2022.
12 games in 2023.
2 games so far in 2024.

He's 31.

Red flags everywhere.
Yeah, he’s beat up pretty good and we don’t need another team’s injury prone former great.

BTW…listening to Rams fans out here in So Cal and it seems that the Chiefs, Chargers, and an outside chance for the Steelers to make a play for him.

Health and age are a concern but maybe not so much if he isn't asked to be a 10-15 targets per game type of guy. He is unquestionably one of the best route runners in the NFL.
Trade for him and sign Hunter Renfrow... holy crap that's an elite route running duo!

He's a lot of things, but he ain't over the hill. That said, his injury history isn't doing him any favors.
Is he not 31 or 32 with an extensive injury history? Would he make this team a contender? That’s rhetorical.

By the time we get back into contending status he will most assuredly be over the hill.

I stand by my assertion that the only way he’d make sense is if he can block on the o line, play defense on either the d line at linebacker or at safety…and catch passes. This team is so much father away from contention than an old banged up receiver.

I didn't say I wanted him. I simply said he's not over the hill. If he gets healthy and can stay healthy most of the season, he'll be very good for whoever he plays for. That's a big if. His talent is still elite, meaning he ain't over the hill. His lack of availability is the problem.

I'll say this, he needs to stay healthy long enough because that elite window won't be open that much longer.

Oh I see the peanut gallery isn’t feeling my earlier post on this topic…. So let me add more context and be clear.

The only reason a player of his caliber would even be available for trade is due to his injury history. If not for that, he’s never leaving LA. That’s #1.

Secondly, I’m under no delusions that he comes in here and helps us this year or saves our season. All that died after 5 straight Ls and 2 beat downs.

I want him because when he is healthy next year, he can still be one of the best WRs in the NFL. And I like points.

I also have no delusions that this team will do anything to fix the cap anytime soon, or has the ability under the current FO to draft their way out of this... so the picks and money mean very little to me.

So yeah, if the price is right. I’m with it. All the other discussions outside of the obvious is just forum fodder.

Not worth a 2nd round pick at this point in his career.

The last 3 seasons he's gotten injured walking from his bedroom to his bathroom.

The ankle sprain that he sustained this season was basically from a hip-drop tackle in which his lower leg got trapped under and rolled upon by the tackler. I don't know how heavily you could use that against him in terms of labeling him "injury prone."
