Rap: DA returning barring “debacle”, Gayle/Loomis commend him for “holding it together” citing injury excuses (1 Viewer)

Those ‘07-‘08 years were kinda rocky.

Sure, but it was a different kind of rocky, with the backdrop of knowing that the team was capable of greatness if it added the right pieces to the mix.

Both years we saw a high flying offense hindered by a porous defense, and I think we all certainly realized we had a special QB and coach that just needed the right defensive coordinator on the other side of the ball, and Gary Gibbs wasn’t it.

If we were to try to look at this from a parallel perspective, I don’t see enough greatness out of the defense or his leadership style to think DA is one good offensive coordinator away from turning things around, not to mention his historical data prior to New Orleans.

I predicted this outcome several weeks ago. Saints would win enough to screw themselves out of a top draft pick but still miss the playoffs. I would almost guarantee they win next week and the Bucs beat the panties. I’ve been a fan long enough and have seen this scene play out far too many times.
Yep. The 2nd most likely scenario is that the Panties DO beat the Bucs somehow, and the Falcons somehow steal a victory from the jaws of defeat.

07 was the offense letting us down more often than not
08 was defense

Exactly,

We just trounced a hot Tampa team playing outstanding defense.

The slot corner people were whining about last week and how bad the coaching was playing out of his mind yesterday after that "terrible coaching."

Our offense was downright entertaining and effective. We had what, 5 turnovers against a team that led the league in to margin.

Yesterday was what we had expected all year and we did it without MT, Latt, Ramchek and his backup.

That was an extraordinarily well coached and played game. The Bucs had 50 yards in the first half 4 first downs and 3 from penalties 2 of which were BS.

Some of you would complain about winning the lottery.

I give the players more credit than DA and staff, they have never stopped playing....through DC's little fits, terrible schemes/coaching and inexplicably bad losses.....I'm happy and admit, surprised, with this win.....but no coach should get rewarded for 2 little 2 late.....

My stance remains the same...... if the Saints don't make the playoffs with one of the easiest schedules and the worst division in the NFL then DA should be gone.....if they do manage to get there, then he deserves another season.....as to what really happens? Who knows....

It's really sad. New Orleans has one of the best fan bases in the NFL and we are a small market team. Fans at the end of this season stayed home or sold tickets to opposing fans.....in large numbers. Sort of a warning shot to the Saints brass to make things better. But Loomis makes a few dumb comments and ignores the fans. Doubles down and basically tells everyone DA and crew will be run back in 2024 after an atrocious season with the easiest schedule the team has ever had......playing the worst QBs you could draw up on paper.

The dome will be empty. We will see it on TV. It could've been prevented. Give the fanbase hope - fire this staff and start anew. The fans deserve that.

Live in a bubble? Great win Sunday. Lots to like......but have you watched the whole season? See any games last year? You can't really be serious to think this coaching staff has what it takes to succeed in this league. I don't believe it. Cuddos for the players not laying down and giving up. That shows the character of this team. That gives hope for the future when a change as head coach is made. Unfortunately, that won't be until 2025.

Their only real hope to create some excitement is to bring in a hot name at offensive coordinator. An in house promotion won't cut it nor will bringing in one of his old buddies from Oakland.

Fans should roast this organization even harder if they decide Curry is their guy. Curry should have been calling plays, 6 weeks ago.
