RB Needed? (2 Viewers)

We missed out on Fournette, R. Jones and Mack when FA began. They would’ve upgraded RB depth.

All the free agent RBs still available now are 30+ or close to 30 with mileage and injury history. Not much difference in talent than Josh Adams and Abram Smith imo, who haven’t been used much and got a chance yet.
That’s not correct at all.

Sony Michel is 27 and currently a FA, Jerrick McKinnon too. There’s a few decent FAs out there who would be an instant upgrade to what we currently have outside of AK. Even those who are 30+. We only need 1 year of production from them at this point.

We have AK, Ingram, Jones, Washington, & Smith.

I think we run with that in camp to see if Jones improves & see if we hit on Smith.

Once we find out AK’s punishment then we possibly look to add a vet unless Jones & Smith look good enough to roll with Ingram which is possible.
Your leaving off a very good RB we have on our roster. Seems like everyone overlooks him.

His name is:

Josh Adams

- Check out his YouTube videos when he played with the Eagles.

So, I looked at his stats and they are impressive. But, I wonder what happened to him that meant he didn't get another real chance to play after his rookie year?

We should sign Michel for the season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if RB depth is Ingram and any two of Adams, Jones, or Smith for the season, depending on how they look in preseason. We’re drafting a RB for sure in the 2nd or 3rd next year.

After Kamara, who will likely miss a chunk of time, I view the group as a weak spot for sure. I’d really hoped we’d get a bruiser in the draft. Maybe that Smith guy will do well in a limited role, but I am not super comfortable. Maybe we pick up someone who gets cut later. I’m sure we’ll have our eyes open.
Need someone who is good in space and is a reliable pass catcher.

Yeah I’d even be happy with Murray back. Obviously he has the advantage of knowing the offence.

You raise a great question that I can’t answer. Kid had a very nice rookie year (2018) and then not much opportunity since. This years training camp will be ‘big’ for him no doubt! He left Norte Dame at #5 all time - total rushing yards. Came out a year early and it probably caused him to go undrafted. Tall, powerful, runs hard. Gotta be pretty smart too graduating (last week) from ND. Just another good kid, the kind our front office seems to track down. He scored his first NFL TD, about a 20 yard scamper, vs our Saints D. If you try Josh Allen + Irish (YouTube) there is a very recent video of him being interviewed by an Irish media outlet, and near the end he talks briefly about signing with the Saints. Listening to him he seems to have a handle on how the NFL works now and should have as good of a chance as any UDFA’s in camp this summer to make the team. JMO.

I do not think Loomis is done shaping the offensive side of the ball. RB was not even addressed and Kamara will most likely miss time and Ingram is at the backend of his career and only bringing in Abrams make you feel like he was hand picked but I'm sure the Saints are still looking to address this position along with WR.
Honestly given the amount of good backs in the draft I expect some good rookies/vets to find themselves looking for work as the rosters slim down in the pre-season.

Its not ideal, but given the guys available now, and the limited cap space to add players, that may be where we snag our depth.

Really surprised the Saints are only bringing in one RB to push the guys already on the roster. AK is a stud but we still don't know if we will be without him to start the season. Love MI ,he can't handle the Starting role alone anymore. TJ, not sold on him as a RB3.
Do we think the front office has an eye on a vet free agent?
IMO, Kamara’s case will probably not go to trial, until after the 2022 season. His hearing got pushed back until August 1st. His attorney’s requested that date and it was granted by the LV judge.
