Really, Mark Wahlberg? (1 Viewer)

cant say anything until you are in that sitution. im sure we all said that before but until you in a hijacked airplane with crazy ***** people trying to blow you up.

We are talking about the same guy who beat a stranger purposefully, permantly blinded one of his eyes, then never apologized to that individual.
He says he got over it.

Sounds like something he would have said as Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights during the scene when Roller girl?(I think) made that documentary about him.

Wasn't 93 the flight that crashed in Pa. Due to passangers intervening which saved the intended target and people on the ground?

Yes it's very offensive as he is claiming he could do what others who gave thier lives tried to do or better said did

At least he would have liked to believe he could take a stand.

He could have gone the Chrissie Hynde route and be glad it happened.

Was it an overly macho thing to say? Yes. Was it bad taste? No.

If only there was as much outrage over the Loose Change video......

Except that 3 of the 4 planes weren't aware that people were trying to blow them up until it was too late. The other one actually did try to do something.

Before 9-11 people thought a plane hijacking would probably result in the passengers sitting in a plane grounded on the tarmac for a few hours until the terrorists were either talked into giving up or were given safe passage with a few hostages who would be released at the airport in the country the terrorists were going to. That's how it happened in movies before 9-11 and that's probably what the passengers thought on that day. MW probably would have done the same thing or offered them money to pay for their escape in exchange for everyone being freed. Of course that wouldn't have worked, we know. But I see that scenario being more likely than MW beating up all the terrorists and then having the plane land.

With that said, Mw is free to say whatever the heck he wants. He shouldn't have to apologize for that. He can say whatever he wants on his own Twitter account. As long as he isn't flat out insulting or wishing injury on someone then no apology is required.

I think it's strange that this is even a topic. Sounds like a guy just talking about what he would do in that situation.

It's just people looking for a reason to be offended. I admit I've been guilty of this in the past myself but I'm getting away from that bad habit. What does it really do for a situation to get offended from someone that AT WORSE made some comments out of bravado.

It just seems really whiny that people are offended by what he said. He didn't say anything derogatory about the people who died or America for that matter. At least he didn't say that we deserved 9/11 as some celebrities have said.

He was supposed to be on a plane that the general consensus is we shot down in order to save a ton of other lives. I'm really not sure why or how he thinks he could have changed that.
