Red Dead Redemption (2 Viewers)

My son wants me to check out the sale on Epic Games for RD Online. Is it worth it to even purchase RD2 or is RD Online fine? I haven't played either (RD1 or RD2) other than my son showing me some goofy/funny stuff.

RD online is garbage...the single player campaign is awesome though

Ff. Red dead i waited a week or two on. Last "new" pc game, crusader kings 3, i waited a couple months on and got it on sale.

RD2 is an amazing game. RD Online is pretty boring and more or less just a money generator for RockStar Games. It's basically a troll fest. That being said, unless things have changed drastically, RD Online comes free with your purchase of RD2.

Anyway, RD2 alone is worth the purchase price. It's one of the great games of all time.

It’s a crime that they are working on GTA instead of this franchise. I would love a remake of the first one.

it's possible that they could easily make a version of the first one within the second one...the entire map area is there except for the Mexico part...they have all of the recorded dialog from the first game too..

they essentially just need to redo cut scenes...

yea. I noticed that. I would not even care if it was dlc and although the zombie dlc for the first was not long, I enjoyed that too. I think they kind of mailed it in a bit but it was still nice to revisit that world. I was not a huge fan of the story for the second one. I mostly just didn’t like Dutch and all his whining.

They could, but past history seems to show that Rock Star is not interested in DLC for the storyline in Red Dead or GTA games anymore. GTA 5 never got a DLC that wasn't GTA Online DLC and basically designed to sell more shark cards and I think the same is true of RDR2.

They did the small zombie DLC for the original Red Dead and they did some storyline DLC for GTA 4, but no storyline DLC since then. I think they realized they make a lot more money for GTA Online and RDR2 Online DLC where they give it to you for free, but you have to pay money to quickly be able to buy the things you need to play the DLC.

That being said, I remaster of RDR using the RDR2 map and engine would be cool and relatively easy for them, but it doesn't seem to be the direction they are going.

It just seems to be a little ridiculous to not at least port the old game to the newer systems. i don’t feel like digging my 360 out of storage just to get my fix for the first game.
