Remember this thread should the Saints miss the playoffs... (3 Viewers)

I don't know how you plan for a $20MM QUARTERBACK, but that is the challenge. Will Smith, Roman Harper and others made it hard or impossible to keep the OL in place. Also, we have been weak in the secondary with Harper and Jenkins all along -- they can't cover and can"t find the ball in the air.
PLEASE CONSIDER: All teams have problems with salary and/or performance. Moat teams would love to have our problems, win or lose Sunday. JMO

I have no doubt the Saints will make the playoffs but won't win a game on the road in the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong.

This is my thoughts also... I'm still very confident in this team at home but my negitivity is spawned by I have very little confidence in our team on the road....

I still think we can beat Chicago and Dallas on the road, I'm scared of the Packers with Rodgers back and I don't think we have much of a shot at the NFC West on the road... I have no clue what would happen with Philli

I NEVER used the A word. Those were bandwagon fans who acted or sounded like u crybabies. Y'all SAINTS FANS OR NOT? What is our record? Lost last 3 in 09. Have a little FAITH in your team. They've earned it. These ain't yo Pappy's SAINTS! I' have not enjoyed the losses they sting a little but we have a quality organization and our future is bright. Adversity makes us stronger. Saints rule!

Man... I'm so sick of you guys with you Palm Palm shaking nonsence suggesting you're a bigger fan... Take your skirt, painted face, palm palms and illogical arguments and just go away.... You're not a bigger or better fan because you can't see thru your black and gold colored glasses!!! The 1st season I can remember being excited about was 1976, when I was 6 years old and I've sat thru every minute of every game good or bad....

Having said that, in 09, we lost a tough game against the cowboys, we lost the next against the Bucs where we handled them and I think we fell asleep and still lost because a late missed field goal and in ot and rested our starters in week 17... COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then what's going on...

Look people!!! Burrying you heads in the sand and trying to talk yourself into thinking all these problems aren't real doesn't make you a better fan or change the outcome of the game...

The saints have issues on the oline, our receivers are old and slow, our offense is void of explosiveness, we're decimated on the back end of our defense, Brees isn't playing well enough to overcome and HOPE will not change that...

Lucky for us, every team has weaknesses... Here's to overcoming our weaknesses winning!!

I'm normally a fan of your posts, but I gotta call you out on something.

Who's burying their heads? I don't think anyone isn't or hasn't acknowledged that we have issues with coaching, play calling, Oline, QB play, etc.

These threads are getting out of hand with the absurdities, not the obvious issues.

Just like anyone has a right to their own opinions on this is message board, some may feel the need to defend the Saints when over the top negative comments are made.

Besides any of that, none of us can change the way the Saints choose to handle their business. So all of it is just a bunch of people trying to shove their point of view into somebody else's brain hole.

For me personally, I think this front office and coaching staff have earned some patience from it's fan base. There's no chance they won't make mistakes, choose a wrong guy in the draft, fill in the blank with the rest of the not perfect things that happen.

Is anybody else winning the Super Bowl every year? Nope.
So every team is facing some kind of crap every year.

How you handle wins and losses is a personal thing.

But don't start ragging on the older fans because some of us see things differently. (That one wasn't for you)

The problem with the OP is not so much his Debbie Downer opinion, it is that he makes a thread titles "Remember this thread should the Saints miss the playoffs." He is saying "remember" but then qualifying it with "should". Really going out on a limb - isn't he? Then he writes about his "feelings" he had for the Carolina and Pats games as if he is some kind of a psychic or fortune teller. Those games were games that the Saints were underdogs in Vegas, so I don't think his psychic skills are all that. He probably has these feelings before every game, but he won't come back and tell us how his feelings were wrong those times when the Saints won a game.

Man, 1st... Thanks for the compliment, I didn't think many people like much of what I have to say on this board... Lol

2nd, you're right (kinda) that I'm doing what irritates me and that is overstating reality... It just really gets under my skin when people pull the "you either toe the company line or you're not as big a fan as me" and I had to call him out but in the process, I called him a palm palm waver just to overstated my point for emphasis...

I'm not a pessimist or a negative person but I'm obviously more accepting of the reality of the situation then others... I get irritated by the exaggerated point of both. "Fire the coach, cut the QB and throw the game on purpose cuz it's better in the long run is just as bad as "where's the real fans who are all in and the rest of you can go away/lose your fan card"

But you said it best, people trying to force there opinion on someone else...

:highfive:

OP, I'm with you. Just because we have serious doubts as to whether we even make the playoffs or not, does not mean we don't want to make the playoffs and win a Super Bowl, it's just that we are skeptical because we see what we see.
Not trying to put words in your mouth, but I think a lot of us see it that way.

This thread is BS. Our coaching staff is one of the best in the business. We have one of the best QB's in the business. Our defense is playing lights out. Just because we lost a hard fought game on the road doesn't mean our season is over. We have beaten the best teams in the playoffs (San Fran, Carolina, and Arizona). If we win and make it in, no doubt we can beat any team we play. This team definitely has its flaws, but lets not try and pretend that we are the only team. The Saints can beat any team entering the playoffs. Carolina and San Fran have the worst offenses out of any team in the playoffs. I will gladly welcome the opportunity to play them again.

This team has weaknesses, no doubt about it. But, it sometimes seems as though we forget that our team is lining up against other professional teams each week. Save for a very few, every team has struggled this year.

I would be ticked if it seemed we were not trying to get get better and remain on top, but that's not the case. There is only so much a team can do from year to year. We have spent a lot of energy on our defense, and it has paid off. It's damn hard to peak in all three phases in any season.

As long as we drop the old end around play I will be happy.

Just like how I felt that this past game @ Carolina was playing out the same way as the @ Patriots game, I also feel another sense of dejavu.

This season is starting to remind me of the 2002 season with that famous Dante Culpeppper fumbling and scoring on that 4th and goal play in the dome when they went for the win instead of the tie. We started out 7-2 that year and it all came crashing down. I traveled to New Orleans for that game and me and my brother were so excited about our team that year and thought we had a chance for the Super Bowl. When we got to New Orleans though none of the locals gave the team a chance to make the playoffs. They were still called the "Aint's" then amongst locals.

Well I see the stars aligning not in favor again this year. I think the Cardinals are going to EARN that final playoff spot. Even the Falcons blew their chance to beat the 49ers on Monday Night when it was in their grasp. Now the 49ers can rest starters @ Arizona.

No other team has had more success against us in the dome than the Bucs. You know Schiano is going to have his team ready to play and our boys are going to play nervous.

If we lose there could be an overhaul of our roster in the offseason. Payton is already making changes and discussing the future RB situation. If we choke and miss the playoffs, not only will we go down in NFL history as one of the biggest meltdowns it could cause some big moves. I think Ingram and Sproles are gone, Pierre will have to take a paycut in order to continue his career with the Saints. Colston might have to restructure, Lance Moore gone, Jimmy Graham will get the franchise tag and New England will attempt to swoop him up for two low end 1st round draft picks. The defense will get another overhaul in the offseason and Brees will want the offensive line addressed without restructuring his contract.

We could be looking at a run of mediocre seasons and drafting a QB to replace Brees in a couple of years just like Green Bay did with Favre and Rodgers.

Things could get real concerning and ugly should the Saints choke on Sunday. Also Payton better watch how coaches to because he could wind up going down as a Mike Martz and not a Bill Bellichick. Remember once the Rams lost their offensive line and could no longer protect their QB, Martz was stubborn with the pass and got his QB's killed everywhere he coached the offense.

I hope and pray the Saints win on Sunday and we get some help from Atlanta cause I would hate to see a major roster shakeup especially with us not having cap space.

Serious state of Depression here. And another Hurricane could come op the Mississippi in March. Yes, we could lose to the Bucs, but this franchise is in great hands. Until Brees and SP move on, we are a playoff team every year.

Try Celexa. I hear it works quick and has minimal sexual side effects. If you need a big group hug from your Who Dat brothers and sisters, just close your eyes and feel it!
