I agree. There’s just no excuse for a GM to have given Dennis Allen a second chance. Who in their right mind would ever see what he did with the Raiders and think “I want that circus running my team”.

And now after two candidates turning down second interviews and a rumored third refusing even the first, it’s clearly seen that people good talent in the NFL views the saints as a place to stay away from.

That’s, really really really bad. These coaches do talk to each other. They do know each other. You really think Glenn, Johnson and Brady didn’t at least inquire Payton or Campbell about Saints front office? You think there aren’t low mumblings in coaching circles?

Loomis hired an ex raiders head coach as a head coach, along with other people from the Raiders and were clearly being avoided the same way the Raiders were pre-Tom Brady.

Below is the hitch. Loomis is probably the most secure GM in the league ... maybe tied with Stephen Jones in Dallas.

...

That said, perhaps Loomis can go forward as the Saints' Chief Operating Officer -- essentially an emeritus title -- and the team hire a Director of Football Operations. The new director wouldn't be called the "general manager" because it would advertise too direct of a "dismissal" of Loomis. Renaming the position and creating a new slot in the hierarchy for Loomis allows the team to apply the fig leaf of "reorganization".
Unless all decisions involving the Saints is removed from Loomis’s hands we will always suffer!

It's become evident that all the winning seasons were in spite of Loomis, not because of him. Payton was the brains behind it all and without him Loomis is like a lost child. I wanted him gone after he sent our premium draft picks to Philly so he could draft Olave and Penning, but sadly he remains and the circus continues.

LOL. No.

I don't even think you know what you talking about at this point.

Really said I can read people by way he order Vietnamese food. Offended by a California stop sign.

MODS might need to step in. I'm getting swimmer vibes
Leave swimmer out of this! I miss that pilled up dog!

That would be nice but that dream will not come true.

Swimmer Vibes are Groovy Vibes man.

Ack -- I didn't even notice. Mea culpa.

This is a really good topic for discussion, but something is up. Don't want to deep-six the thread summarily.

I mean, it's essentially the same discussion that is being had in every thread on this board for 2 months except this poster, or his alt, has come up with the dumbest possible reason to fire Loomis. Loomis has many issues, but how he orders Vietnamese food isn't really relevant to his ability as a GM.

And when Gayle finally has no choice but to change GMs, then who is going to build a hiring strategy and vet GM candidates? We have a clueless owner when it comes to that. There’s no end in sight. It might take selling the team to fix things.
