Report: Patriots could have interest in making Aaron Glenn their defensive coordinator (2 Viewers)

Lame. People often wonder how the pats have the best dynasty going. Easy, their coaches don't leave until AFTER they win a super bowl. They then reload with the best candidates out there. We go to the playoffs for the first time in four years and already talk of us losing coaches. Doesn't compute.

How does it not compute? Belichick recognizes coaching talent - Glenn is the best secondary coach in the NFL, last year he had street free agents playing at a decent level, this year Glenn turned the secondary into a strength. So of course Belichick is going to consider him as a replacement for Patricia. As much as I hate losing Glenn I’m confident he will succeed as NE’s DC.

Belichick understands the importance of great coaches. He wouldn’t have limped along carrying guys Vitt and McMahon. What sucks is the Saints finally assemble a very good coaching staff and these guys are getting poached.....

What doesn't compute is we have our first good season in 4 yrs. and coaches may already be leaving. We need to try and hang onto these coaches as long as we can. Mimic the pats philosophy, at least a little.

Give him MORE MONEY....We need to keep every coach on our team. We need Nolan also, give them ALL MORE MONEY to stay...

I understand the desire to keep these guys around but even if the Saints offered more money to Glenn to stay as an assistant coach it’s highly likely he’d take the Pats’ DC job. Higher profile, it’s a promotion, and might well lead to Glenn becoming a HC. Unfortunately more money isn’t going to keep Glenn or Nolan around.

I can't begrudge him for thinking about doing this. Quality organization and the next step towards eventually being a HC.

I hope we find another guy just as good somewhere else. Maybe an assistant on the Jags is ready to manage the secondary by himself now?

I think you all are just reacting to the thread title.

Flores is the front runner and will get the job if he doesn’t get the Arizona job. Wilks sounds like the front runner for the Arizona job, so Flores will likely be the DC for New England.

I think if its a promotion then they have to let him interview. If its lateral then they can block it, seems like that is a league rule.
