No, it's not misleading at all, because you are mischaracterizing the argument.I agree.
It does not change the debate for either side. When the big debate seems to be McCarthy v Brady and it is brought up as a pro-McCarthy argument to say 1/2 the last 4 playoff teams have retread coaches, while not bringing up the fact that the other 1/2 of the last 4 had the same first shot story as Joe Brady - that is pretty misleading, isn’t it?

The first argument made was that McCarthy was a "retread" and young newbies do better than "retreads." In refutation, it was pointed out that half of the teams playing this weekend have "retreads," so the notion that newbies are better than retreads doesn't show up in the results.
There was never a claim that newbies aren't as successful as "retreads," so there's no reason to point out that "retreads" aren't more successful than newbies.
