Rodgers-Cromartie...4.28 40 yard dash' (merged) (1 Viewer)

As of now, I think there were 7 clear cut players that were the top 8 picks, in any order you want:

Sedrick Ellis
Glenn Dorsey
Chris Long
Vernon Gholston
Jake Long
Darren McFadden
Matt Ryan

Interesting part is that the patriots at 7, bengals at 9 and probably the ravens at 8 can be targeting the same players as the saints.

To me, the best scenario would be if the falcons would come to their senses and draft Jake Long. They really need to re-build their offensive line. That way Matt Ryan would fall to the ravens, and I don't think they will pass on him.

Derrick Harvey and Rogers Cromartie are possibly the defensive players that may improve dramatically their position and go to the top ten. Mendenhall can be a surprise also at the top 10.

If the patriots don't have a chance on Gholston, I see them more to take a chance on Harvey then on any cornerback. Harvey also can be very tempting to the bengals, who will loose Justin Smith and have drafted corners earlier in previous draft.

I thought before the combine that we would be at #10 in a place where value on defense wasn't as good. Things are starting to change.

38.5 in., NFL.com lists him as the top performer with a half inch over Aqib Talib. DRC just moved into the top 20. I wouldn't be mad if the Saints took him at #10.

thats huge...if ellis or dorsey or gholston are not available....i would take him...

It troubles me that most on this board needed a 40 time to say "Okay, Lets get him now."

I guess there is the CB I've been asking about. I've asked several time through out the week why is some so focused on getting a CB because I really didn't see any that was worth the 10th pick. There is just too much other talent on the table that would have a dramatic impact on this team.

Cromartie has made me question that thought. I feel that we can get serious talent in the second. Maybe a good LB can be had? I know this much, the draft prospects for the Saints has impressed me more than I thought prior to the combine.

I agree with that top 7, and now I'd add DRC to that list, after this combine and the Sr. Bowl. The other two positions are the question marks that could change the whole flavor of where the others fall. We're actually talking a bit about our top 10's on the "Combine: Cornerbacks Discussion" thread. :)

Seriously I hope you guys get to see all the drills forget the 40. His feet are so sweet Deon just stuttered twice attempting to talk about it. Dude is real good.

DRC is blowing every drill up... Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson are going crazy watching DRC.

I'm so glad that the NFLN is going to repeat this tonight....work sucks!

;)
