Ronald Curry calling plays (2 Viewers)

I'd Believe that if he took over duties during the year, I think it will be an outside guy, but it's something to consider.
Mid-season changes have not been a part of the Saints operating model so I can understand why it wouldn't have happened, unless Pete had been fired at that point. But yes its something to consider. I initially leaned towards Bienemy for a new voice and new offensive ideas with championship pedigree, but we may just have a guy already in the building in Ronald Curry that just needs a real opportunity.

Also worth mentioning that Carr name dropped "RC" quite a bit in press conferences after the offense started clicking. I'd like to believe the improvements were his influence and that he gets promoted rather than us installing an entirely new system
Somebody check and see if Underhill Tripp or Scooter got any inside info on Curry??

Paging UTS, paging UTS...

One Ronald Curry interview from 2023 Sr Bowl. One thing I took from this one is the fact that he said he has been under multiple coaches and experienced multiple different systems over his 11yrs coaching. I love his confidence and direct demeanor.

Good listen!

Bump from preseason.

Ronald Curry will be the new OC. It makes too much sense especially since DA gave him playcalling duties in the preseason and the results were favorable. Curry has been groomed for the job. Maybe it has been a succession plan in place all along. The QBs all have been mostly competent under his watch and some probably exceeded expectations in some regards. TeddyB, Taysom, Jameis, Carr. I remember a report coming out that said Curry addressed the team during the Jags game so he must have a strong enough leadership voice in the locker room.

To some it might sound like more of the same from the same regime but Curry might just be able to bring some fresh ideas to the table as OC.
My goodness, this is just too ridiculous. He called plays in ONE pre-season game and he was meh. He was in the offensive room when we had issues and what great idea did he contribute to turn it around? He was/ is part of the problem. He had 2 yrs under Harbaugh when they were awful and he's been here ever since . HARD PASS

Why would it be so ridiculous?? How much more experience do these other QB coaches and passing game coordinators have over Ronald Curry let's be real about it? Curry played 8yrs, has coached for 11yrs, and was NOMINATED to OC the Sr Bowl, what about some of the other candidates?

SMH just because you played in the league does not mean you are going to be a great coach. Like I said RC was an Off AST under Harbaugh for 2 yrs when they were bad. An Off Ast is a glorified intern with no input on the O. When Harbaugh got fired so did he. He comes here and had the same title. When Morton the WRs coach took the OC job with the Jets Curry became WRs coach , he pretty much inherited talent with Thomas, Ginn and Smith. Then we got a real WRs coach when Curtis Johnson came back and he was moved to QB coach which was another low responsibility job with Brees and Pete here. So his 11 yrs coaching experience has been with TWO teams and before DA 2 HCs and mostly in low priority positions.

Waldron has almost 20 yrs as a coach and has been an OC calling plays for 3 yrs, He has worked under McVay with 2 different teams and is credited with turning Geno Smith around
Robinson also has worked under McVay for 5 yrs and is passing game coordinator and QB coach
Neither have been just an Off Ast

Waldron's offense hasn't set the league on fire these past 3 seasons, although I will give credit for Geno.

You actually made some good points in favor of Ronald Curry although you haven't recognized them just yet....like Ginn's best years were with the Saints. Like the fact that Curry has learned under Harbaugh AND under Sean Payton.....like Curry has had first hand experience with the Drew Brees....like the fact that he has shown versatility by being able to coach WRs AND coach QBs. Sean could have just gotten rid of Ronald Curry when Curtis came back, but he didn't. He made sure to keep Curry on staff, and for good reason.

yeah, ok...it's low-level when Curry coached with Payton and Brees, but it's not low-level when Robinson coaches with McVay and Stafford??? Same coaching roles but Ronald Curry's impact gets diminished right??

Don't just look at the stats for Sea's offense they don't tell the story Waldron is a very creative OC and has been for 3 yrs , He's from the Shanny/ McVay tree
SMH Ginn's best yrs were NOT with the Saints they were with Car.
Robinson was NEVER just an offensive Ast he was always a position coach
When Curtis came back what did they do with Curry? offensive Ast . Not saying Curry is a bad coach just nowhere near ready for an OC position
