ARod might not even be there next year
Rodgers might not even be playing this week again because of Covid testing according to his interview on Pat Mcafee’s show. He still has to be activated from the Covid list and not eligible to come off until Saturday.

Rodgers potentially missing another game or two if gets put on the Covid list should also factor into his signing decision

At this point, its all about chasing a ring. I don't blamed him for possibly going but Green Bay is just full of unnecessary dramas & headaches all involving, Karon Rodgers. How & why am I going to escape a disastrous headache from Cleveland then literally go up the road to an even BIGGER headache???

Yes, I will admit. We might not be the most appealing place to sign with, mainly because of our QB & salary cap situations. However, there are more pros than cons. We dont have that GB drama, automatically be the prime factor (#1 WR) to Sean Payton's offense. Playing in front of an electrifying fanbase. The culture is positivity contagious & intoxicating. Its very rare for a NFL player to have an opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of playing with his hometown team.

IMO, GB isn't really showing any much interests in OBJ because as soon as he announces that he wants to come to GB, the Packers should had immediately get him. But eventually they will sign him

The Saints have already pretty much said our offer would be minimum because of the cap, and an incentives deal would be tough with the season basically half over...

I don’t think that it will. Because eventually he’ll come back and they’ll still be winning their division.

Davante Adams likes being the right hand man of Kaaron. He’s just Rogers this and Rogers that, never criticizing him or saying how he could do something better. He’s really passive. OBJ has a mind of his own and it won’t go well with Rogers.

Idk where he ends up but no place has as good of a team and fan culture as us. He needs it more than he thinks.

Not really a fan of OBJ and his "me persona". Seems to be drama everywhere he's been, and he's the common denominator in that. But with that being said, he doesn't "own the franchise" on drama and I do believe he'd be a serious upgrade over what we've got and he could make a significant contribution here. Even more important, I think both parties would benefit from his presence here.

  • If he wants a "strong QB", he's going to have to sacrifice touches to get that. And that's been a problem everywhere he's been...not enough touches. So I believe him when he says that.
  • If he wants "touches" (and I do believe he does, so above), no one can match the Saints. Our receiver corp will consist of "OBJ and a bunch of other guys". And we've got a coach who plays to player strengths and knows how to scheme for that. If this is TRULY what he wants, the Saints are the obvious choice; and I haven't even touched upon the potential appeal of playing for the hometown and the home crowd. He could be the "chosen one" in NO and that shouldn't be dismissed too quickly for a fellow who seems to have a lot of ego. That's not a knock on OBJ....just a statement that NO could scratch that itch in a way that 31 other franchises cannot. Nothing more.
  • If he wants to "revive his career", the "strong QB" option isn't his best bet (see above). At best he'll likely be what he's always been....NOT the WR1. IMO, the best way to "revive his career" is in NO, where he'll get PLENTY of touches. And he'll either perform well, and lift the team with him; proving his worth as a WR1, and validating what he's been thinking and saying his entire career. OR, he'll continue to perform like he's always performed; but with outsiders noting the Saints don't have a QB to feed him the ball, so it isn't his fault. Coming to the Saints could be the only option on the table where he could possibly win big, but have nothing to lose. At least on the field. But not when it comes to financials....at least not THIS year. On a 1-year "prove it" deal, the Saints provide the best opportunity to showcase himself to the next highest bidder contract, with little or no downside to OBJ. We just can't "pay the man" this year.
  • Speaking of financials, if money is his primary motivator, we're probably the last team on his list. If $$$ is the objective, look for him to prioritize getting paid, and he'll sign with whom he percieves as the "most likely to contend" with the largest cap space available for a contract. OTOH, perhaps Jameis can persuade him of the benefits of taking less now, for the opportunity to increase your worth and get paid more later.

Although not a fan of OBJ, if he's in B&G, I'll become a fan and root for his success. And who knows....maybe the Saints are the franchise and culture to "tame" his diva and allow his talent to flourish. Again, a win-win scenario. Regardless, it will be interesting to see where he chooses to go. And considering his conflicting criteria (no pursuer offers everything he wants), it should be pretty obvious to figure out why he chose whomever he chooses, IMO.

I hope it's here, at least for the remainder of this year. The path forward will be obvious based on the results of that.
