This 9 game audition isnt the contract he is worried about. Us offering more for 9 games vs GB offering less isnt the contract he is setting himself up for. This will be less about money and more about situation.

Green Bay also has Aaron Rodgers. We have a career backup. I just dont see how us offering more helps him. He would be wiser to take less for this 9 game audition to set himself up for the bigger money long term deal in the offseason.

And you can say he would be the WR1 here, but he isnt the guy running crisp routes like CGM. Is it better being a WR1 with bracket coverage every play because we dont have a WR2 thats a threat, or being in GB with a QB who can sling it, and all the help rolled over to Adams?

So is OBJ. This is a 9 week rental. He is going somewhere for 9 weeks to reestablish is value. He doesnt care who is going to be where next year. Its HIGHLY unlikely he commits to anyone beyond these 9 weeks. It makes NO financial sense for him to do so with his value right now.

If he picks here, its not because of the 9 week money. Its because he believes the sheer volume of targets with a backup qb outweighs going somewhere with a legit QB and sharing targets with Metcalf, Adams, Hill, etc. in order to set him up to negotiate a long term deal in the offseason.
