Saints are interviewing Dolphins WR coach /former Boise State OC Robert Prince for Offensive Coordinator (3 Viewers)

These are a bunch of who's who's of candidates. Since the head coach is calling plays ,might as well make these candidates assistant coaches instead of coordinators

Then the Dolphins can (and should) block the interview, because it would be considered a lateral move. Coordinators do more than just call plays, and if Moore is still acting as an OC while HC, his career will be short.

Who is the OC for the Rams? What about the Vikings? McVay normally doesn't even employ an OC.

Rams - Mike LaFleur
Vikings - Wes Philips

Even when they don’t have OC’s, they still delegate to RGC/PGC/AOC for the coordinator work. It’s easier for them to do at this point because they already have full staffs.

He just signed on with Miami. This is just a friend doing a favor to Kellen so he can be in compliance with RR.
Robert Prince is more than just a friend doing a favor to Kellen. He was Boise State’s WR coach when Kellen was there. Then became Boise State’s offensive coordinator for the next 2 seasons. Also was WR coach on Kellen’s staff in Dallas.

Previous offensive coordinator stints at two other colleges. Passing game coordinator experience. Also coached QBs, RBs and TEs in the NFL.

He has an extensive, qualified offensive coaching resume spanning 3 decades. Based on his exp, he’s a very strong candidate for Saints OC and any team’s OC vacancy really.

Yeah, I get that. Your last comment was odd. McVay has went a few years without an OC, so he was the OC/HC, but I'm sure he delegated most day to day OC stuff to his position group coaches, etc.

I do agree, guys who act more like Coordinators and not HCs don't last long. Sirianni had to relinquish his meddling and let KM do his thing for the Eagles to get over the hump.

That is a lot of experience at a lot of different position groups (WR/RB/TE/QB), plus OC, plus acting NFL head coach, plus he knows CKM personally. Experience with 7 NFL teams. Anyone saying this is just an Rooney Rule interview is full of it. He may not get the job, but he is fully qualified according to his nearly 35 year long coaching resume.
