Saints are interviewing Dolphins WR coach /former Boise State OC Robert Prince for Offensive Coordinator (2 Viewers)

Would love Brian Hartline.

Interesting. Curious as to why Hartline? Very random name to be brought up in this thread as a NFL OC candidate.

Seems like he isn’t nearly as qualified as Prince other than his obviously nepotism-jump started fast track career, which up until now with this upcoming season, does not include any time as a play-caller.

Not directly accusing you of anything because maybe you have your reasons, but on the surface, this seems like a microcosm example of why the Rooney Rule exists.

Can you explain what draws you to Hartline of all people?

To those of us who can see the obvious and don’t care, for the sake of not having to read the responses of the people who’d prefer to insult our intelligence by offering exhausting rhetorics to convince us were silly, let’s pretend like we’re blind and just be happy we have some coaching/staff news after weeks without any.

I hope he gets the job

There was such strong a feeling that the OC was going to be Nuss, He's gone with CKM in every spot he's been. While very much qualified, you have to wonder is these interviews are maybe just info gathering, courtesy interviews , or a maybe a wow me interview or even compliance ones .

Nuss may not want the job because he won't be the play caller...

Not everyone wants to be "Pete Carmichael."

Coach Prince might be the perfect couch to work as Coach Moore's OC.
They have worked together so he won't have a problem of getting into Coach Moore's ear if he sees something in a game that would help our O...
He has OC experience, so he knows how run practices.

Agreed!

No one is offended, it just came off ignorant. The way that typed it is that he is only getting looked out because he a person of color, and he has no qualifications which is not true.
Therein lies the problem with the Rooney Rule, and even DEI as a whole.

It completely undermines the ability, skill, or intelligence of someone of color (or of a certain gender). Even if you're perfectly competent at your job, people will think you only got the job because of your skin color, race, or what's in between your legs.

Those people are delusional, if someone honestly think people are hiring people without skills is delusional. I been in on interviews and part of hiring process and, I been black all my life and I promise I've been turn down more jobs for not being a cultural fit though having the ability, skill, or intelligence then i have for been offered a job for just existing and being black.

The OC will have to be a guy who know he really isn't the OC, only in title and wont call plays- how many of those guys are there? has to be someone with close ties to Moore and no ego- this guy fits the bill

Most head coaches with coordinator backgrounds call the plays for their respective units, its not at all foreign that your OC not call plays if the head coach is a former OC.

You'd only think that if you were already prone to think that those people were undeserving of the job. Believe it or not, there are those of us who don't assume that the default for qualification is 'white male'.
