An interesting piece from ESPN.com on Thursday, Feb. 14, suggests the Saints give Andrus Peat a massive pay raise. We say ain’t gonna happen.
We’ve done a fair amount of talking about the issues about to come up for the Saints with left guard Andrus Peat. Between Peat and Terron Armstead, without any kind of contract restructuring, those two will account for just over $31 million toward the team’s 2019 salary cap.
Peat’s number for 2019 is $9.625 if the team kicks in the fifth year option on the contract for the Saints first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Armstead is set to make over $10 million a year for the next three years running. ...
