Saints @ Carolina (Oct. 19) (1 Viewer)

I looked at the Marriott website and it shows one at Executive Park. Is this the one?
The hotel where the team usually stays and I am staying this year is Charlotte Marriott City Center - http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/cltcc-charlotte-marriott-city-center/

The one I usually stay in and the one we will tailgate across the street from is Residence Inn Charlotte Uptown - http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/cltru-residence-inn-charlotte-uptown/

As for a ticket update, I am at the mercy of the Carolina Panthers. I requested (and paid for) 35 tickets, but they haven't notified me yet if I got them. I emailed them again today for an update, but I haven't heard back yet.

We Will Be At The Lsu South Carolina Game On Saturday In Co.lumbia, South Carolina. On Sunday Morning, We Will Be Headed To Charlotte Very Early Sunday Morning( Only 90 Miles), Check Into The Hotel, Put The Game Gear On, Pop Open A Cold One, And Head For "the Bank". We Are Getting Our Tix Through Stub Hub. Right Now You Can Get 2 Upper Deck Tix For About 75 A Piece. These Seats Are On Saints Side If Anyone Is Interested. We Had A Great Time In San Fransisco Last Year Watching Our Boys Rough Up The Home Town Niners. Hopefully Carolina Fans Are Nicer! 49er Fans Were *** Holes. Go Tigers And Goooooo Saints.

PMs have been sent with payment information. If you didn't get the PM, let me know.

We are debating on coming up Saturday and spend the night or driving up early Sunday morning. If we stay the night we will want to be as close as possible to the stadium. Maybe the below questions will help us make the decision.

1) Does Charlotte have a section similar to the French Quarter/Bourbon Street of New Orleans around the stadium? It does not have to have the strip clubs. We do not want to drive up there and spend the night sitting in the hotel room, but do not want to worry about getting a DWI either. So we are looking for something to do withing walking distance of the hotels.
2) How early do ya'll normally get together to tailgate?
3) Do ya'll normally have a get-together the night before?
4) I figured it would take about 3 1/2 hours to drive up from Mt. Pleasant, SC. Is this correct and are there any traffic issues I should consider? I am mainly concerned with how early we need to get there for a parking/tailgating spot.

Thanks,

Raymond

I will try to answer some of the questions. We usually don't stay over night. Fayetteville is 2-1/2 - 3 hours away & a horrible drive, but there is little traffic early Sunday morning.

The Residence Inn JRead mentioned is right across the street from the stadium. There are many other hotels downtown that are very close by (well within walking distance). There are many restaurants/bars downtown. I know of no strip clubs down there...lol.

We are usually in Charlotte by 10:00 or so & tailgating has already started.

If you decide to drive up on Sunday, there are many lots available for parking. They get more expensive the closer you get to the stadium. I believe we usually pay about $15.

Hope to see you there!

Uptown Charlotte has a pretty good night life. Most of it is walking distance from all the big hotels. I have been there the last 3 years and have never had a problem walking from bar to bar. There are strip clubs if you want that.

I think there are usually people tailgating by 8:00AM...Jread2 is one of them. I'm usually a bit later than that depending on how Sat night went. :) The lot we tailgate in is $20 to park, but it is close to the stadium and probably worth it. I'm sure Jread will put up a map when we get closer to the game. And remember, everything in Charlotte is closed Sunday morning so get your tailgate supplies Sat.

I drive up from Greenville, SC on Sat afternoon. I'll PM you my phone number maybe we can meet up Sat night. This year I am staying at a friends house in Uptown Charlotte about 3 blocks from the stadium.
