I just recieved my tickets for brother and I. We will be in section 515 row 5. This is our first away game and we're looking into tickets for the ATL game.

Jread, I Sent you my money via paypal today. Cant wait to get up there and watch the Saints kick some panther butt!

The Abita keg worked out good last year...maybe we can do it again.

Hey, I'm in Atlanta and was thinking about driving up for the game. I would probably go alone so it would be nice to sit with saints fans and have so people to cheer with and possibly even tailgate with! I'm interested. How do I get a ticket from you guys?

I've been the one organizing things the past few years. I plan to start getting things together soon. I'll keep you posted. As for the team hotel, I can't guarantee anything, but it has been the Marriott for the past 4 years, so I would guess they will be there again this year.

no26js there will be four of us attending tailgating but still looking for tickets..

Hey everyone, I got some bad news. I will not be able to make the trip to Carolina this year with my bus. I recently got laid off from my job and although I found a new and better job already, I don't have any vacation time to use. I'am really sorry because I had been approved for the vacation at my old job and had told everyone I would be there, but now I can't. It stinks really since I now have to work sundays also and might even miss the home games this year. I hope by next year I will be able to make it.

We are debating on coming up Saturday and spend the night or driving up early Sunday morning. If we stay the night we will want to be as close as possible to the stadium. Maybe the below questions will help us make the decision.

1) Does Charlotte have a section similar to the French Quarter/Bourbon Street of New Orleans around the stadium? It does not have to have the strip clubs. We do not want to drive up there and spend the night sitting in the hotel room, but do not want to worry about getting a DWI either. So we are looking for something to do withing walking distance of the hotels.
2) How early do ya'll normally get together to tailgate?
3) Do ya'll normally have a get-together the night before?
4) I figured it would take about 3 1/2 hours to drive up from Mt. Pleasant, SC. Is this correct and are there any traffic issues I should consider? I am mainly concerned with how early we need to get there for a parking/tailgating spot.

Thanks,

Raymond

The nightlife isn't right at the stadium but most of downtown Charlotte is walking distance to the stadium. From the Marriott Center City, you're only about 2 blocks from the new Epicentre w/ Whisky River (a bit red-neck b/c it's Dale Jr's bar and draws the NASCAR crowd), Howl at the Moon, Suite (www.suitecharlotte.com), and BlackFinn - an EXCELLENT sports bar (www.BlackFinnCharlotte.com). Also in the vicinity a block away is one of my favorites - Cosmo's Cafe. There's also Forum, Alley Cat (live music but young crowd).

On game day, near the stadium, there's Picasso's, and my favorite local place for casual food - Brevard Court Sundries (www.brevardcourtsundries.com), which is right above French Quarter Restaurant (not so fond of it as it really doesn't have cajun food).

I will try to answer some of the questions. We usually don't stay over night. Fayetteville is 2-1/2 - 3 hours away & a horrible drive, but there is little traffic early Sunday morning.

The Residence Inn JRead mentioned is right across the street from the stadium. There are many other hotels downtown that are very close by (well within walking distance). There are many restaurants/bars downtown. I know of no strip clubs down there...lol.

We are usually in Charlotte by 10:00 or so & tailgating has already started.

If you decide to drive up on Sunday, there are many lots available for parking. They get more expensive the closer you get to the stadium. I believe we usually pay about $15.

Hope to see you there!

Jan

There is one strip bar downtown and only a couple blocks from the stadium. They actually have some gameday packages. It's called Uptown Cabaret. Probably the nicest strip club in Charlotte.
