Saints @ Carolina (Oct. 19) (2 Viewers)

MamaSaint - I was your semi-close neighbor at one time. I was raised up in Sterlington.

Hmmm....we are about the same age, too. I will be 57 two days after the Panthers game. We've got to get together to compare notes. A few kids from Sterlington went to Bastrop High back then. We might have some common friends. My best friend grew up in Sterlington.

Well...it's the Chiefs. I'm 50/50 whether I'm going to get one off the net or just wing it at the stadium. I'm kinda leery going into enemy territory and trying to scalp. Kinda throws your leverage right out the window.

I'd say to wing it. However, if we win next week, it'll be more difficult. But for some reason, the Saints game isn't one of our bigger sell-outs. I think you'll be fine. I'll also let you know if I come across some extras - I usually have some.

Good deal..we're flying into CLT Friday night and driving to Columbia the next morning for the LSU game. We're staying in CLT so we can just driveback after the game and be ready for Sunday. Always wanted to pull the "double" before. Shoot me a PM if you come across anything. :9:

I can't remember exactly but I'm going to the Panthers/Chiefs game this week-end. I'll find out which tunnel the visiting team enters the field & which side they warm up on. I'm not positive (because I have no sense of direction in that stadium) that the Saints warmed up on the same side of the field last year & the year before. Oh yeah....there is no overhang at all so bring a hat.

I was in Section 107 which was in the panther's butt of the tunnel they come out of...lol. It was right where they shoot off the cannon when they score. It would have been great if we were Panthers fans. The Chiefs warmed up on the other side of the field from the tunnels.

The only good thing about the game for my husband was seeing Tony Gonzalez set the all-time receiving yards record for tight ends. I have come down with some kind of upper respiratory infection & spent time in the emergency medical services room. They couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful.

I'm hoping it will be a little cooler for our game.

I know I said I would have a tailgate planning thread posted this past weekend, but I got busy and didn't get to it. However, I am getting things together now and will have something posted later today. I'll start a new thread so we don't have to sort through this one to find information. I'll put a link in this thread to the new one. I'll also PM those who have informed me they are coming.

Ms Jan,
Thanks for the info. I'm sorry to hear about your health. Did they take a chest xray? What type of URI did they say it was? Stay hydrated and sip on some echinacea tea periodically...should help recover quicker. So just to clarify, the Saints will be warming up towards endzone sections 119-123 and their tunnel will be b/w section 136-137? Also, do they allow digital cameras into the game? I appreciate the feedback Ms Jan and thanks for writing back and keeping me in mind.

Unless things have changed since last year, you can bring in any camera you want, except for a video camera. The gates will open at 11. If you are chasing autographs, that is the time to enter. In the past, stadium staff has let fans go down to the section next to the tunnel up until about noon, maybe a little later. At that point, you must leave so ticket holders can get their seats. I used to go in at that time and hit the tunnel, but now I stay in the parking lot and party until about 12:30.

Thanks JRead2. Can you suggest any place to park. I am coming to BOA for the first time and unfamiliar with the surroundings. I don't mind a short distance walk. Appreciate the help.

jaimun, no chest x-ray but I've had bronchitis several times & that is what the symptoms are....lots of chest congestion, bad cough, some nasal congestion. The EMT's took my blood pressure because I take medication for high blood pressure. I felt like I was going to pass out in the stands, also had a lot of nausea. They gave me an ice bag to keep cooled off. We finally left in the 3rd quarter due to my illness & the game being a blow out.

There are lots of parking lots to park in. The lots farther away are only $10. We paid $20 yesterday in a lot on South Tryon across from the Charlotte Observer building. It was about a 3-4 block walk. The trickiest part is getting through downtown Charlotte with all the construction going on. The usual exit we take off I-277 had a detour & we ended up in a part of Charlotte I was not familliar with. We just asked directions & got back on track.

Hope you can make to our tailgate.
