I think as the kickoff "meta" evolves, we are going to see more plays being run out of the kickoff returns; more attempts at reverses and misdirection. We also can't expect to preserve Shaheed as a true starting WR and ask him to do all the special teams work. I like the move.

From reading what Vikings fans say, they saw it as a head scratching move for the team to cut him given the new kickoff rules and their own lack of RB depth, but he really struggles in pass protection and that was probably a deal breaker.
