I haven't read the entire thread but I read the Saints worked out Noah Spence.

As well as Shane Ray (considered a bust while in Denver) & Chris Smith.

Dude was a beast when active but STAYED injured. It was only a matter of time each season before we got the news that he was going to be out. Year in and year out. I rooted for him but it was him and Terron Armstead, IIRC. Every. Year.

I still don't see a better explanation other than his frame was never meant to carry the weight and extra muscle he added to be a DE playing weight.

You see that fairly commonly.
