Saints fans unite - don’t watch the NFL playoffs on Peacock (1 Viewer)

Peacock already paid for it - the league cares about what the networks will pay, not necessarily how many people will actually tune in. Peacock is throwing money at content to try to on-board new customers - it's a big picture/long viewpoint.

There's just no reason to intentionally chose to boycott the game for spite. If you don't want to buy a sub to watch it, that's totally fair - there's a lot of services out there now, it makes sense to not want to get all of them. But the idea that it's making a statement to choose not to watch it if you otherwise have it or want to get it seems misplaced.
This is the first season I have interest in every game in wildcard weekend. Esp the peacock game potentially being in negative temp.

I originally got peacock for the office, then they put that 70s show and the have the old WWF stuff I watched as a kid. It’s enough to keep me paying $6.

If the ratings are bad then it gets written off as a failed experiment. If they're good look for more games being streamed by random pay channels. Them it will snow ball.

The NFL playoffs are about as sure of a bet as can be made - the ratings aren't likely to be bad, that would be an outlier. But even if they under-perform, it's not going to sink the idea that these platforms will bid for access - they're well funded, highly competitive, and take a long view on building their content. A single event isn't going to make or break any of it.. The NFL is in the cat-bird seat with it's high-demand product and everyone knows it.

It would take a fan revolt on a substantial scale to even make a blip on this - and that's just not going to happen.

For those looking for a way to watch without peacock can use your cable or satellite provider login, cox worked for me and use the nbc site or app and use this vpn that offers 2 Miami locations free. Game airs on the Miami local nbc affiliate. After connects or shows in guide can try and disconnect vpn to save the limited vpn data to see if keeps playing with your home internet. Did for me but doubt will work turning off if you are outside the US. https://windscribe.com/yo/a3sdjw2l

for those with a Fire stick, you can download the Downloader app from the app store, then put in
Sportsfire.tv
and install Sportsfire app.
it only works on Fire sticks and some Android streaming sticks

Peacock has alot of customers that don't even know they access to a free account. All Comcast customers have access to a free account. They just have to sign up useing their Comcast accout information. (Comcast owns NBC/Universal Studios)

Somebody has probably already responded, but this is no longer true.

You can get it for a discounted price or have it be included as part of your plan.

But it's not free for all customers anymore.

ESPN has had playoff games for years, this isn't anything new. Did you boycott games on ESPN? At least it's way easier to setup and cancel streaming subscriptions than cable TV.
ESPN came with your cable TV Peacock is and add on to your cable bill....

The only game of the weekend I wanted to watch and it's on peacock...screw them.

Imma get my ad blockers warmed up a UA stream the hell out of it.

I thought game initially would air on the free peacock subscription I had through cable provider but guess not.

For those with youtube tv, hulu live or fubo tv (fubo tv can be recorded) can also watch the game on a windows pc free by changing your geolocation by tuning into the Miami nbc affiliate from outside the miami area. If would also like to know how to do this or to watch all the afternoon saints games preseason and regular season this same way from outside the area pm me.

If you paid for Sunday Ticket then you should be able to watch every game.

lots of weird comments in this topic...
Anyway, I found this mention of a discount code

new subscribers will receive the Peacock Premium annual plan for $29.99

If you use cable, it looks like you should be able to watch thru Peacock and/or NBC app. I attached their FAQ on peacock's website.

But if nothing else works, you can watch any NFL game using a web browser and going to streameast

You can always ping me if you need help

I was really ticked that NBC put a Sunday, regular season game, on Peacock. I paid for Sunday Ticket and as far as I’m concerned, that game should be on my Youtube TV stream.
100% agree, pretty sure the commercial says every game every Sunday. I almost forgot that happened, I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have access to the game.

The NFL is inching toward the pay per view model.

When I was a kid the most popular sports were boxing and baseball.

Boxing went to pay per view and look at how popular it is now.

Baseball went to cable TV and it's dying.

In the 80's professional wrestling rivaled the NFL. They went pay per view. It exists, but not like it did.

The NFL apparently, believes that it's too big to fail.
