Saints interviewed Eagles OC Kellen Moore [ 2nd interview completed on Jan 27 in Philly] (4 Viewers)

I’ve never believed in Moore, but we’ll see because it’s highly likely this is the guy if they’re flying to him.
He had to work with Dak, the enigma that is Herbert and the non qb that is Hurts.

He wasn't able to do win with Herbert. But so far no one has.

Yeah that was my thought. And I’m not bashing the team, maybe it’s pretty common and I just didn’t know.

I think it's a matter of practicality and working around Moore's schedule. I'm sure it will be a busy week for him to get ready for Super Bowl week and the game. So, it's probably easier for Moore and saves him time if we fly to him. Plus he'll get plenty time in the facility week after next since the Eagles will be using the Saints practice facility for the week. And he also interviewed here 3 years ago so I'm sure he saw everything then.

It's not the usual way things are done but you don't often interview a guy who is getting ready for the Super Bowl in two weeks.

That all certainly makes sense to me.

I get that but you have Jeanty #1 and Miller #2. You are paying Kamara a lot of money on a new contract so you have to get him touches.

We are already paying $10 million to Hill to play a limited number of touches.

Miller is in the training room. It's a bonus if he sees any playing time, but you should treat it like he's not even on the roster at this point.

It's more like Jeanty RB1A, AK RB1B and Miller RB2. AK would be more of a change of pace, 3rd down, receiving option who probably stays on the field most of the time. Miller would be Jeanty's direct backup since their running styles are similar. As AK fades which he will fade, he always does, Jeanty can pick up more of that receiving role since he's a good receiving back as well. The Eagles were down to RB3 today b/c Barkley is banged up and Gainwell got his knee tweaked so they were down to Shipley to finish the game. Had it been closer, Barkley probably would've been in here, but teams have to have quality depth at RB.

I wouldn't have a problem with that. But, at the same point, I could see Moore coming from Philly and thinking that the first thing he needs to do is build our OL and DL. 9 is obviously too high for an OG, but maybe if the right Tackle is there he takes a LT, moved Fuaga to RT, and after seeing Becton at Guard, he tries Penning at LG. Or the right DL might be there.

In the end, I think we just need to take BPA at 9 or trade back.

He's experiencing first hand the difference between a playmaking RB1 and regular RB1s. As someone pointed out in one of these threads, Becton is a FA. He could lure him to take over RG. There's also a couple big Becton size OTs coming out of NC State and Rutgers who could be drafted later in the draft and plug in on the line. I'd let the OC/OL coaches decide where they play, but Penning at RT needs to develop into whatever role and moving all the time won't help him develop.

I just don't think a new coach is going to feel tied to Penning and might be willing to just move on if he doesn't show a lot of improvement as a pass blocker. And while he saw what a playmaking RB can do, he also saw what a great OL and DL can do. Not to mention the fact that we already have a playmaking RB in Kamara.
