Saints met with top QB prospect Cam Ward; Cam Ward: “It would be a dream of mine to play for the Saints” [Saints may inquire about trading up for Cam]

It’s possible but it’s really hard to get #1 overall. I’d be surprised if a team is tanking for #1 before the season starts.
For sure but this draft feels different, usually there’s a cut and dry view on who is supreme talent or who can be an elite QB. All it takes is for the titans not to view him as that and for us to. It’s very possible. And if the saints think he’s that guy, screw it, go get him

I hope so. I’m a huge Cam Ward fan. I hate the Canes, but at some point I gave up rooting against him. Dude has earned it at every level…reminds me a little of Hurts

I’m a fan of the Canes and of Cam. He’s got it, whatever it is. I’ve been trying to think of a good comp for him tho. Sometimes he would point directly at where they were going to run the ball as if to say ‘here it comes and you can’t stop us’. Definitely a leader, teammates loved him.

Well, the good thing is, moving from 9 to 1 has happened a few years ago when Carolina moved from 9 to 1 to take Bryce Young and they moved their no.1 WR to the Bears in the deal. It is a steep, steep price. I don't think the Saints do it because everything they've done thus far says they wanna attempt to win the NFC south this season.

If what AdamWest said is true it might be cheaper than what Carolina paid.

Drafting Ward does not mean they cannot win the south with him. Moore is going to have to win with a rookie at some point whether it is this year or next for obvious reasons.

Honestly after thinking you may want to do this now instead of next year and you’re possibly drafting in the late teens and have no shot at any top tier QB.

I think the Saints will try to trade up to get him but also think the Titans will probably rebuff it because either a) they'll just draft Ward himself or b) they do not want to drop down so low to miss out on Carter or Hunter.

It’s probably going to take 2 first one round picks, a second round pick and Chris Olave to get Ward
