Saints Pick At #9 via Mock Drafts (20 Viewers)

I think it was either NFL.com or CBS.com had 6 mock drafts and 5 of them had a different selection at 9.

Almost agree with you but you need a QB to make the throws for T. Warren to be a threat and not sure if he fits into our new HCs scheme.... think he wants a TE that can play all 3 downs and not be a liability for the run game

Warren can block. And he's 6'6" 260 lbs.

He will not be a liability in the run game for whoever ends up getting him.

If Bresee is the lynchpin like this board swears he is, you get a DT to help him out.

If the oline was horrific like last year you get an Olineman.

#9 is gonna be a FATMAN regardless.

We do not need weapons at #9

In a few weeks, Mike Green’s name will be in the top 10 of every one of those mocks. Mike Green is literally a young Khalil Mack coming into the league from Buffalo. He’s just as efficient as Abdul Carter as a pass rusher, better if youre into the PFF stuff. Mike Green is the clear cut EDGE2 of this class in my opinion, & id take him 9 all day over a lot of those more popular names.

Draft Will. Make him QB. That way we get his bestie Nuss next year and then Will can kick to LG after a deeper appreciation of needing to keep the QB clean in the pocket.
Nuss is going to have to have a drastic improvement from last season to this season. He throws way too many deep to middle deep balls. Sometimes, homie just needs to throw an 8 yard pass to stay ahead of the chains. That annoyed the living crap out of me last season. Every time he kept fishing for the big play. Hated his game last season imo.

Mason Graham or trade back and draft Mykel Williams.

Reason…look at the talent we’ve lost over the years (not including Baun/Ellis and then look at who we’ve replaced them w/.

Trey Hendrickson
Shelton Rankins
Malcolm Roach
Shy Tuttle
Marcus Davenport
Tyler Davison
David Onyemata
Malcolm Brown

In DAs HC introduction he said “last but not least I’d like to think the players, behind every great coach are good players”

Then we watched all our good players in the front 7 leave for other teams

Kellen mentioned that we’ve put resources into the oline, I suspect we’ll go Dline either DT or DE.

Mykel Williams is my vote for DE. He plays smart, finds the ball quickly w/ his eyes and is rareky fooled. He’s got some Aldon Smith in his game via his arm length and his lateral agility is crazy. He’s can stunt and hit almost any gap you want in an instant

As odd as it may sound, as good as Warren is catching the ball and yet somehow better running it (he runs angry like Taysom Hill), somehow his best trait is still run blocking.

As far as QB goes, I'm in agreement. I know Carr is good enough but Rattler is questionable. Either way we'll have whoever Moore wants as a franchise QB no later than 2026 draft.
Was just going by the notes on Warren in the mock drafts didn't mention anything about his blocking skills just his HB and WR skills....

Ya you gotta watch him. He’s a very angry blocker. Let me see if I can find something and if I do I’ll edit and throw it here. Just a side note, I say it because I’ve watched him bully people in the run game many times. Don’t take these internet scouting reports to heart, they’re often full of junk info and miss far more often than not.

Mason Graham- DL (Probable)
Abdul Carter-Edge (Impossible)
Travis Hunter-CB (Impossible)
Will Campbell-OT (Possible)
Will Johnson-CB (Probable)
Tyler Warren-TE (Probable)

If Will Campbell is on the board at 9 you risk pulling a hammy running to turn that card in. We need Oline help for whoever plays QB for this team, and having bookend OTs like Campbell and Fuaga (move Fuaga back to his natural RT).

From that list of mocks the only ones that I can see making it to 9 are Will Johnson, Mason Graham and Tyler Warren. My first choice would be Graham, but we don't know what kind of defensive system we'll use yet since we have no DC. Are we playing 4-3? 3-4? Where would he fit?

We could PROBABLY take Will johnson here and let Adebo walk via free agency, and we'll have a solid trio of young CBs in Alonte, Koolaid and Johnson, but we have greater needs.

I would actually LOVE to trade back a few spots and get a couple assets. We have way more holes to fill, and we could use more darts. We can trade back and still take Warren. People point to the TE at Oakland but Oakland features their TEs (Devonte was their only good WR)... Kellen doesn't. I could see us taking the WR from Arizona if he's on the board at 9 over Tyler Warren if both were available.

I'm excited about this draft because it's a new beginning... I just hope Mickey doesn't screw this up.

Fuaga is a natural LT, he was playing out of position at OSU. He isn’t moving anywhere. I don’t think Campbell is in our cloud at 9 but if I’m wrong the Oline has no excuses to not be the undisputed strength of the team
