Saints planned to interview Mike McCarthy; McCarthy didn’t garner enough interest from Saints and will take a year off (13 Viewers)

What happens if Kellen Moore withdraws his name from consideration? Rizzi?
it seems like our eggs are in one basket now. I'm just waiting for some additional confirmation from schef or Rap. I'm not questioning the original report, though.

We cannot officially make an agreement with Moore until after the SB. But that doesn’t mean an agreement isn’t in place. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start hearing leaks of that coming out over the next few days.

It will certainly be telling if the Saints don't bring in anyone else to interview.

Not that I want it to happen but that would be in true Saints fashion have Moore reject the offer and we end up with Rizzi by default because the pool dried up. It sounds like they have Moore, but it wouldn't surprise me if something went sideways at the 11th hour.

I wonder if we possibly have an agreement with Moore after our visit and we let Kingsbury and McCarthy know today. Both dropped out today. Did we allow them to save face and drop out on their own before announcing our plan to go with Moore?
That could not possibly be. The Saints are a dumpster fire organization that no one would want to coach for and that would only be something that a top notch organization would do, so I don’t believe it. Pictures or it didn’t happen.

Welcome, Coach Moore (hopefully)! This process has been a shambles but if it ends with a young offensive mind who is a competent play caller, that’s something I think the fanbase can get behind.
I don’t consider it to be in shambles really, and I’m not just putting on B&G glasses. We were limited on when we could interview Moore, and he may have been up there w Glen, presumably, in terms of the front office’s wish list. He’s proven to be a good OC in his last three stops and is a young and innovative offensive-minded coach who has shown he will change it up based on his players’ strengths, and he’s also without a connection to the last regime to boot. If we do land him, I couldn’t be happier w the selection.

dumpster fire organizations don't have Super Bowl trophies.

Yes, it was a while ago. But it's still the same FO.

This is the only updated information anyone has seen on the coaching search

I don't think we are going to get any confirmation on Moore outside of not getting any info on further interviews or other offers. Moore can't sign a contract until after the Super Bowl so he can't officially take the job until then. But, we will likely know within the next couple days if it is going to happen.
