I just don’t get the sense the defense is built correctly w/ where it’s best resources are allocated.

I also think it’s suffering from the same issues as Payton’s offense under Peat where it’s been built on so much and some of the players are so tenured that it isn’t being taught from scratch. They need to strip it down to the core and focus on just the skeleton of it, like we kind of did in 2017 once we got our nucleus.

I have to put a big part of the decline on defense to Jeff Ireland. They haven't brought anyone of note on the D-line for a long time. It was mostly okay till now because Cam his side of the line locked down. Now that he doesn't, the weaknesses elsewhere on the D-line can't be covered up anymore.

What good would that do?

And that's not a reporters' job.

Actually it is their job as sports writers (journalists) to question his and the teams performance otherwise they should be on the saints payroll as PR reps.

Could anyone imagine a town hall with saints staff and season ticket holders, that would be a beating.
