Saints release the first unofficial depth chart (1 Viewer)

Fantasy football players sweating that they won't get to use Taysom at TE again this year...

There lies the other issue with it. I remember one year, arguing via email with Yahoo about that. They kept telling me that he was listed as a QB on the team’s depth chart, but I argued back that he actually plays other positions more, and he rarely plays QB. They eventually got mad and told me to kick rocks🤣

No one loves TH7 like I do. Not only as a player, but the type of person he is. I only mentioned it from a leadership standpoint. Has nothing to do with TH7’s feelings or lack their of, bc he is ego-less. I’m just saying, with how his career has unfolded, I would have not done it, as a courtesy to him, just in case. It’s like when Teabow was traded to the Jets. He was told that he was going to play STs, with being inserted in some Wildcat packages, but was listed as the backup to Sanchez, with McElroy. Sanchez was benched for McElroy. It’s literally not that hard to list a guy in the actual position that they will be playing. For me, it would be different, had TH7 not played QB for us at any point, along with his desire to be a QB. I’m detailed oriented, so little things like that, sticks out. Maybe I’m just overly protective of TH7, but looking at comments on Twitter, there are others that it sticks out to as well. If you can change a man’s position in real life, then it should be super easy to do it on paper.

I dont think thats a good reason imo, i think your fondness for Hill is just causing you to over think it. Another point is Taysom does line up at QB quite a bit, he might not throw from the position, but he lines and runs QB power most of the time hes in the game. A;so below is from the wiki page

2023 season

After a season of categorization at tight end on the Saints depth chart, Hill was moved back to his original position of quarterback. Pundits speculated that this was done to take advantage of the NFL's newly implemented emergency third quarterback rule.[82][83][84][85] He finished the 2023 season with 81 carries for 401 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns to go with 33 receptions for 291 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

This is even more concerning “if” the pundits speculation is correct about the emergency 3rd QB rule. 🦌 is like “so we will use your name to game the system…..you just won’t ever be used as such”.

Underhill was on OTB this morning and talked about the depth chart. He said he thinks it’s more for gamesmanship than actual depth. Said that the practices have been very different than what’s on there in several spots. Mentioned WR (Tipton), FB (expects Horvath to be the one), OG and RB (Mims behind Miller). Even went further saying that if Miller doesn’t show something soon he might be cut (I think IR might be more possible). He also mentioned how good Mims has looked, how he’s picked up the offense and seems to have the patience and always picks the right hole.
