It’s interesting that the league’s transaction wire doesn’t list his release. All team reporters tweeted that he was released with Jameis Winston as post-June 1 cuts on the first day of FA. Football news accounts also reported that Thomas hits FA on the first day of FA.It's definitely a confusing thing. And, officially, there has not ben an NFL transaction for Michael Thomas. So, he has not been terminated. Jameis Winston was terminated on March 13th and designated a post June 1st cut.

So, what's the hold up, if it really is going to be a termination? MT might have a point here.
Maybe the league overlooked reporting Thomas’ release. Or there’s an odd technicality in the post-June 1 cut procedure that’s preventing the league from immediately listing his termination.
Thomas isn’t listed on the team roster on the Saints website and ESPN anymore. Saints don’t appear to consider him as part of the team anymore.
