Trade Talk Saints should trade for Tanner McKee. He’s better than Rattler or Haener and has WAY more upside than Carr. (20 Viewers)

Give Rattler the best offensive line, RB, and WR duo and see how he performs.
McKee was playing with scrubs too.

His 2 TD passes in the game he started were to Ainias Smith and EJ Jenkins, not AJ Brown and Davonte Smith. Granted it was against the Giants.

This is what I wanted two years ago. The Saints signed a cheap vet like Mayfield or Darnold. Then draft someone like McKee or Hendon Hooker and we wouldn’t be in this Carr mess and be in a better cap situation.

McKee is currently the 3rd string QB for Philadelphia, but the kid can play. He has great size, a big arm, and sneaky athleticism. He looked good in real action last this past season, and his best days are ahead of him.
Cut Carr and eat that cap pain immediately… trade for McKee and watch him win the job. Kellen

Moore knows all about the kid, and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him go after him.

I was a big fan of this kid coming out of Stanford, and all he’s done since is gain knowledge and experience… he just needs an opportunity.
I agree, if not McKee then Moore will find a young qb through the draft or free agency to compete for a role, there will be options. I’m certain Moore has connections and knowledge about young qbs in the league with potential. There is no way we go into next season with Rattler and Haener as our backups.

Roseman would eat Loomis’s lunch in any trade, so no thanks.

Only way this ends up being a valid thread is if Moore actually engineers this trade. Other than their height difference, a lot of the same adjectives could be used to describe Rattler. Athleticism but still raw, etc.

McKee doesn't stretch the field, always takes the check downs, and while he didn't have Smith or Brown, he did have Dotson and Goedert, and they bailed him out a couple of times on some off target passes. Dotson and Goedert are probably a better pass catching combo than Rattler ever had. There are reasons he fell to the 6th round. He's unathletic, and does not run well. Slow 40 and shuttle times IIRC. He has a NEGATIVE college Career rushing total. He doesn't put enough touch on his passes, specifically shorter passes. I watched that eagles giants game. The hapless Giants got to with in a touchdown in the 4th quarter and McKee did not put them away by any mean. As a matter of fact, he took a HUGE sack in the 4th and the Giants were able to cut the lead to less than a touchdown.
His stat line looks okay that day, and yes, the eagles sat some first string guys, but they still had way more fire power than the Giants, and if you watched that game, McKee was not stellar and the giants were in that game until Drew Lock threw that late 4th quarter interception.

Not saying that McKee doesn't have upside and develop into a quality starter, but saying the 6th round pick who has played 1 mediocre game against the worst team in the NFL is Better than Rattler is WILD.

But will Rattler get his own planet??
