It’s unlikely the Saints can afford a franchise tag next year. They’d have to sign him to a long term deal with money pushed over future years.

Afford is irrelevant. If dude is a 12+ sack player without some bizarre extenuating circumstance, they'll just push any other money into the future instead as opposed to letting him leave.

Don't like the move. We overpaid for what should be a situational pass rusher. He's not motivated and we gave him no reason to be if the contract is fully guaranteed. He Can change but his habits are pretty established.

Just can never tell about players and how they fit with a team. Look at Winston....prior to him being a saint I think most on here didn't have many positive things to say about him. By the time he left I think most would say he had a positive impact on our whole organization.

I mean Winston was signed to Backup Drew at Back up prices, though, so it's not the same really. Young is signed because we are desperate, and just hoping that a Cam mentorship will wake up the sleeping motor.. so we shall see, hopefully it works.
