Saints sign former Seahawk safety (3 Viewers)

He's just a roster filler. Training camp fodder until cut down to 53, if he makes it that far. Weak in agility and athletecism and that RAS score. that's just not good. Maybe special teamer at best.

Got a good friend that knows everything Seattle Seahawks.

Said Ugo was an absolute beast in special teams, it’s all he really played.

Nothing wrong with 1-2 guys on your roster that are monsters on special teams.

In 2021 he started 7 games and had 1 int, 6 PD, 1 FF, 2 TFL and 54 tackles (combined) 42 tackles (solo) That’s not bad for a part time starter. However his target completion % was 78% compared to Lattimore which is around 58%. This might’ve gotten him moved to safety. Can he cover the slot like CJ? He’s not a camp body, you don’t randomly sign a player at this time of the year for that. There will be plenty of UDFA’s for that.

Amadi has played a lot of snaps on special teams through his various stops in the NFL and his best chance at winning a roster spot in New Orleans is by carving out a role in the kicking game. He also started most of the 2020 and 2021 seasons for Seattle in the slot, and that gives him an opportunity as the Saints continue to look for the C.J. Gardner-Johnson replacement they lacked last year.

"Who?"

"Ugochukwu Amadi, man. The legendary safety."
