Didn't Velus put a professional career or advanced level of education on hold to play football? I seem to remember something like that from Hard Knocks.

If Miller can stay healthy I really think we are in pretty good shape @ RB. But depending on how the draft falls , like if we get T-mac @ 9 and maybe Grant @ 40 or an edge. We could take Taylor or Arroyo with one of the 3rds and a RB with the otherI like that idea, because he's got speed, quickness and supposedly really good vision and balance on contact. If that's true, then I think he's the perfect backup ups specifically to Kamara. Meaning if Kamara is out with injury or needs a breather, they can use Jones the same way they use Kamara. Not saying he'd be as good, but good enough to keep the offensive game plan rolling without Kamara.
I think Edwards-Helaire has similar ability if my memory of him at LSU is correct. I think the RB unit is in good shape at the moment going into the draft. I don't think they have to reach for a RB.
son of a *!*)@ came here to post just that LMAO.
He may have potential to be a decent back, but the rb position needs an upgrade, I don’t think his signing will play a role in the teams draft decision. He is more than likely an extra back for practice more than a plug and play player.I like that idea, because he's got speed, quickness and supposedly really good vision and balance on contact. I think with his addition to the RB group, they won't be going into the draft thinking they have to draft a RB.He may have potential to be a decent back, but the rb position needs an upgrade, I don’t think his signing will play a role in the teams draft decision. Better than New England Fumble Chowder...Fumbalaya!
Shaheed had meniscus surgery. He'll be healthy long before training camp. The meniscus will either hold up, or it won't - the number of reps isn't relevant. If it doesn't hold up, he'll get it trimmed this time instead of surgery, and he'll still be able to play after a few weeks. The issue then is how long he can play.I definitely don't want Sheed to be anywhere back there during preseason.
He displays a really good sideline awareness & good running vision...
He could be a really good under the radar signing.
When you watch his tape you can see he is about 3 deep with his vision.I guess since AK worked out..
Lets get this guy on the saints as a scoutWhen you watch his tape you can see he is about 3 deep with his vision.
That is a trait that all good RB have...
Look at Taysom Hill...There's more to the Velus Jones story than meets the eye. He has the most opportunities in his rookie season? Has more games but fewer opportunities in his second? Muffs a kickoff in his first game of his third season and is cut!? Someone was looking for an excuse to cut him and some position coach who just won his battle on final roster cutdown, lost the war. So the Panthers pick him up, they need the talent. He barely gets a chance to get on the field and they decide, nope, we're done.
Can't say I'm very enthusiastic.
