Saints sign Running Back Velus Jones Jr.

They have given CEH a one year deal and Jones may be a RB so I don't think it's true that we haven't addressed RB. I would like to add a young RB for the future, but we actually have some pretty good depth right now with Kamara, CEH, Mims, Miller, and maybe Jones. Hopefully we add a talented young RB at some point, but I would not call it a need or a must.
I forgot about CEH. If he's doing better with his PTSD he could be an asset.

Tiki Barber had 9 fumbles his 3 seasons and when he finally became a starter in his 4th season he had another 9 fumbles.

People are freaking out about the 3 he had in his rookie season, but has had 1 since.

He has the talent to give him a chance and see if he can put them behind him.

A very low risk, high reward signing.

I think a guy can get over fumbling issues, but to be fair, according to his ESPN stats, he's also only had 16 touches since his rookie season and none as a returner since his rookie season. So, that's 1 fumble in 16 touches which is not sustainable in the NFL.

But, sure, low risk and he has rare talents that can't be taught.

I wouldn’t be disappointed with McMillan if we trade back. But also trading back to get more picks and getting a solid running back, tightend, or qb prospect would be ideal.

I'd like McMillan or Warren assuming both Carter and Graham are gone. I'd also be fine with a trade back if what's available at #9 isn't good value.

Well, there is a serious thought in this opine. How often does hiring another team’s throwoffs really benefit our team? On the other hand, drafting, developing, and resigning our own guys seems to me a better route to take especially in the long run.
Keep in mind a team always tries to retain their best guys.
Back in 2006, the rebuild through free agency did work especially when we snatched Drew Brees. Even then he was considered damaged goods.
Sometimes the right fit can change everything. Just ask Drew. I’m willing to give VJ the chance.

Sometimes a player doesn’t fit your team then goes to another team and balls out and gets an int in the Super Bowl and signs a big contract.

I also remember Taysom having a fumbling issue a couple of years ago.

This team probably got .3 better in FA. At this point, all Mickey is telling me is that they truly do think the '24 season was a fluke and are heavily banking on a new coaching staff to get more out of what they mostly have already. Even with Reid as an upgrade over Harris, you're mostly running this back with underperforming players on a defense that was mostly healthy last year.
They are keeping a lot of players, but they have overhauled the coaching staff who will overhaul the offensive and defensive playbook and playcalling. They are not "running it back," just because they are keeping a lot of the players.

Payton was able to get production from Denzel Mims last season. Mims had significant playing time and made several impactful plays. Payton has a keen eye for identifying players' skill sets and how to implement them in his offense to address any weaknesses.

This allows a one-dimensional player to potentially carve out a 10-year career under Payton's tutelage, and we hope that Moore possesses a similar skill set in identifying players.

If you're talking about Marvin Mims Jr who Payton drafted two years ago in the second round, it's not really comparable.
